Creating editorial work is such a different side of hairdressing — taking an idea from a concept in your head and turning it into an image that tells a story.

To see Sandy’s work recognised at this level is something we are incredibly proud of.

I’m incredibly proud to share that I’m a FINALIST in the Derek Elvy Avant-Garde Award at the NZ Hair & Beauty Industry Awards. 🖤

Avant-garde is where hair becomes art — where creativity, shape, texture and imagination can be pushed beyond the expected.

This shoot allowed me to step outside the everyday salon environment and create something that was completely driven by concept and creativity. Making my top hat from chicken wire and hair!

To have that vision recognised among some of the incredible talent in our industry is such an honour.
