🎂✨ 18TH BIRTHDAY BOHO BRAIDS! ✨🎂

Had my daughter’s bestie in the salon to get her hair birthday-ready for her 18th! 🥳💃🏽

We spent the day doing gorgeous boho braids, laughing until our stomachs hurt, eating cake, smashing some KFC with all the kids 😂🍗🎂 and just having the BEST time!

And the birthday girl absolutely LOVED her new hair! 😍🔥

Now she’s all ready to hit the town and go clubbing this weekend with a fresh new look! 💃🏽✨

Honestly, these are the days I love most — hair, laughter, food, friends and making memories. 🥰🖤

🐾 Something a little different today, Dreadlock famz! 🐾

We’re currently looking for a loving forever home for our beautiful 4-month-old female Shar Pei puppy. 🥹❤️

She is the daughter of our two dogs, and she is the last puppy from the litter still looking for her family. We’ve already kept a daughter from our previous litter, and unfortunately we simply can’t keep another one.

She’s had a couple of homes fall through — absolutely nothing to do with her. Circumstances have come up for the families, and they haven’t been able to take her home as planned. 💔

She is honestly such a loving, playful, affectionate girl. She’s been raised around our kids and absolutely loves children, cuddles and getting pats. 🥰 She has a gorgeous, thick, fluffy coat and such a beautiful nature.

We’re not looking for just any home — we want to find her somewhere she’ll be loved, cared for and part of the family for life. 🏡❤️

A little freshen-up for a hardworking dad 🖤

He’s had dreads before, and last night he came in to get a fresh new set, from Mullet to Drullet in 2 hours 🔥🤘🏾

We even brought back some of his old beads from his previous dreads, giving the new set a little piece of the old journey. ✨

Just a dad and his boy doing life👨‍👦, and a reminder that dads deserve to do something for themselves too. 🖤

✨ Meet Hendrix! ✨

Kia ora whānau! I had the coolest little dude walk into the shop yesterday… well, technically he started his dreadlock journey on Wednesday! 😂

Hendrix is just 4 years old and travelled down from Cromwell with his amazing solo mum, Cat 2.0 — you might recognise her because I had the absolute pleasure of doing Mum’s hair too! 🥰

We started Hendrix’s dreadlock journey on Wednesday and got through half of his head before he decided, “Yeah… nah!” 😂 So off he went to find something else to do, with the plan to come back and finish the job.

Thursday was Mum’s turn, so we spent the day getting her natural hair dreaded up — and then this morning, Hendrix popped back in to finish the last lot of his dreads.

AND HE IS DONE! 🔥🖤

This little guy was absolutely STOKED with his new hairstyle! And now he’s off to Kmart to add some fresh Hot Wheels to his collection. 🏎️💨

I’ve absolutely loved having these two in the salon. There’s something pretty special about sending a solo mum and her son away feeling fresh, confident and rocking their brand-new hairstyles. ❤️

Welcome to the dreadlock whānau, Hendrix! 🖤🖤

✨ KAT 2.0 ✨

Yesterday was one of those days in the salon that reminds me why I absolutely LOVE what I do. 🖤

This beautiful mum drove all the way down from Cromwell with her son, spending a few days down here cruising around, seeing whānau, and making memories — and then yesterday, we spent the whole day together in the salon creating her third set of dreads. 🥰

She'd recently made the huge decision to cut her old dreads off… but quickly realised something just didn't feel right. She didn't feel like herself without them. 🥺

So we brought her back. 🖤

We dreaded her natural hair and created these custom blonde ombré extensions, carefully matched so they blend beautifully into her own hair. ✨

And the reaction when she saw the finished result? Absolutely priceless. 😍

She was OVER THE MOON — and most importantly, she felt like herself again.

And honestly, THIS is my favourite part of what I do. 🥹

Yes, I create dreadlocks.
Yes, I create beautiful hair.
But more than anything, I love creating a space where people can walk out feeling more like themselves, more confident, and like the best version of who they already are. 🖤

Today I had the absolute pleasure of having the beautiful Ninette in the salon 💕 She spends her days making everyone in Gore feel amazing, creating the most gorgeous nails for her clients at her home-based salon, Pure Lush Nail Salon 💅🏽✨

Her clients always walk away with the most beautiful nails… but today it was finally Nanita’s turn to be looked after! 🥰

She came in for a little “look-after-me” moment, and I got to work my magic on her dreads! 😍

Just like Ninette makes our nails look beautiful, I’ve made her dreads look beautiful too! 🖤✨

It’s so important to take a moment for yourself when you’re always busy looking after everyone else.
