🌿 Learning, healing & development 🌿

Today I had the privilege of attending a Rongoā Māori workshop with the amazing Natasha Chase of Aroha Community Clinic.

As an ACC-registered Rongoā practitioner, Natasha shared valuable knowledge around traditional Māori healing and hauora.

Professional development isn’t just something I support my kiritaki with — it’s something I’m genuinely passionate about for myself too. 💚

Rongoā Māori offers another pathway for kiritaki to connect with their healing, wellbeing and hauora, and I’m grateful to continue learning and growing so I can bring this knowledge into my practice.

Ngā mihi nui Natasha 🌿✨

The part of leadership I missed most ❤️

Over the past few weeks, I’ve welcomed a few new supervisees to Tuffnell Mind & Body, across different agencies and levels of experience.

And honestly? I bloody love supervision. ❤️

When I stepped away from my previous leadership role, this was the part I missed most — supporting practitioners, creating space for reflection, building confidence and watching people grow.

I feel incredibly privileged that people continue to trust me with that role.

As an ACC-approved provider, I’m also able to provide supervision to practitioners working within ACC Sensitive Claims — an area I also practise in within my private practice.

What I love about TMB is that it brings together so many parts of my professional world: social work, supervision, coaching and therapeutic massage.

And it’s taught me that self-employment doesn't mean you have to put yourself in one box.

It can mean building a business around your skills, the work you love and the life you want to live.

Some days I start late. Some days I finish early. Sometimes I take a day off when I need to. I can shape my week around my whānau and the things that matter to me.

That flexibility is something I value enormously.

And after everything it took to get here, I’m so bloody glad this business has taken off. 🥹❤️

Very grateful. Very proud. And very excited about where TMB is heading. 🌿

🌿 Supporting mums is a big part of my mahi 🤍

I’m proud to be working alongside Mothers Helpers, supporting mums through pregnancy, early motherhood and all the emotions that can come with becoming a parent.

You’ll find me at Plunket clinics on Tuesdays, offering face-to-face support, as well as online sessions for mums who need support from wherever they are.

As a social worker, a mum of two grown boys and an aunty to many, I understand that motherhood can be beautiful, overwhelming, exhausting and sometimes lonely — often all at once.

My approach is warm, non-judgemental and holistic. A space where you can talk, be heard, feel supported and reconnect with yourself. 🌿

You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to ask for support.
Supporting mums. Strengthening whānau. 💛

What's in my engagement kete? 💛

One thing I learnt working with tamariki is that meaningful conversations don't always start with words.

Even though I now work mainly with wāhine and rangatahi, I still carry an engagement kete. Inside are things like Mana Wāhine affirmation cards (always a hit!), fidget spinners, hand cream for grounding and mindfulness, and other simple tools that help take the pressure off.

Sometimes the best conversations happen while our hands are busy.
Trauma-informed practice is about meeting people where they're at and creating a space where they feel safe, seen, and heard.

What's one simple thing that helps you feel grounded?

Midweek reminder... 💚
Your body carries you through every busy day, every challenge, every joy, and every season of life. It deserves care too.
If you've been putting yourself last, maybe this is your sign to slow down, reset your nervous system, and give your body the care it's been asking for.
Massage appointments available. I'd love to help you feel more like you again. 🌿

Monday feels. 💛

After an amazing weekend in the Far North and Hokianga, I'm back into a week of back-to-back clients with a full heart.

We are always healing or helping someone we love heal..being healed isnt the goal as this is unrealistic, we all walk with wounds, trauma and inspire to be loved ✨️ ❤️

This quote really resonated with me...

Whether it's through social work, supervision, maternal mental health, or therapeutic massage, I feel incredibly grateful to walk alongside people as they rediscover their own strength.

Here's to a week of lifting each other up. ✨

Happy monday! 😊
