Wow! This is such an incredible visual of what actually happens inside our bodies after a C-section. It really brings to life what’s happening beneath the surface and why scar tissue, adhesions and layers of healing can have such a lasting impact on the body. -section

Let’s talk about the lack of aftercare following a C-section.

A C-section is major abdominal surgery. Multiple layers of skin, fat, fascia, muscle coverings, and the uterus are cut to safely deliver your baby. Yet for many women, the advice after leaving hospital is simply: “Take it easy for 6 weeks.”

Take it easy? While caring for a newborn, feeding around the clock, lifting, bending, and often looking after older children too.

There is very little education about scar tissue, fascial restrictions, adhesions, numbness, pelvic function, core recovery, or how a C-section can affect your body months and even years later. Many women are left to believe discomfort, pulling, bloating, lower back pain, or a persistent “shelf” above the scar are just something they have to live with.

Now imagine if surgeons had to cut through a man’s p***s to deliver a baby 🤣

There’d be a rehabilitation programme, weekly follow-ups, specialist physios, podcasts, documentaries, a support group, three apps, and probably a national awareness month.

Meanwhile, mums are sent home with a newborn and told, “Just take it easy for 6 weeks.”

Women deserve better. A C-section isn’t just a birth, it’s major surgery, and recovery deserves to be treated that way.

Your appointment doesn’t end when you walk out the door.

What Happens During the First 24 Hours After a Lymphatic Massage?

Your body continues to respond to treatment long after you leave the clinic. Here’s what you may notice:

You may urinate more frequently
As your body manages fluid, staying hydrated is key.

You may feel deeply relaxed or a little tired
Your nervous system has a chance to slow down, so it’s normal to feel like resting.

You may notice less puffiness
Some people feel lighter or notice reduced swelling immediately although everyone’s experience is different.

Gentle movement is encouraged
A short walk and a few deep breaths can help support healthy lymphatic circulation.

Keep drinking water
Hydration helps support your body’s natural processes after treatment.

Be kind to your body
Prioritise rest, nourish yourself with wholesome foods, and avoid overloading your body with intense exercise or alcohol if possible.

Your body does its best work when you support it with hydration, gentle movement, and rest. The more you care for yourself after your session, the more you can complement the benefits of your treatment x

That shelf isn’t just fat!

So many women come to me after a C-section and quietly say the same thing

“I still don’t feel like myself.”
“My lower belly feels different.”
“I have this shelf above my scar that won’t shift.”
“And I also get back pain I can’t explain.”

And I want you to know first, there is nothing wrong with your body.

A C-section is a deep, layered healing process.
Your body didn’t just have a baby, it went through a full surgical journey and then had to rebuild itself from the inside out.

There are 7 layers involved:

1. Skin
2. Subcutaneous tissue (fat layer)
3. Fascia (connective tissue)
4. Re**us abdominis muscles
5. Transversalis fascia
6. Peritoneum (abdominal lining)
7. Uterus

Each layer heals at its own pace, and sometimes they don’t glide together the way they once did.

This can lead to adhesions, areas of internal restriction where tissues don’t move as freely as they should.

Because everything in the body is connected, this doesn’t just stay local.

It can create tension patterns that travel, showing up as:
– lower abdominal swelling
– a persistent “shelf” above the scar
– numbness or altered sensation
– and back pain that feels unrelated

Often, the back is compensating for restriction at the front of the body.

In our Sculpt Detox Method, we focus on supporting the whole system:
lymphatic flow
fascial release and mobility
diaphragm and breath connection
abdominal and pelvic balance
gentle scar awareness work

Because healing isn’t just about the scar itself — it’s about the whole body finding ease again.

And we also understand this:
you’re healing, and you have a newborn to care for.

We hear you.
And we can help you through it ❤️❤️

Did you know your sleeping position can influence your lymph flow?

One of the questions I often get asked is, “How can I support my lymphatic system at home?”

A simple place to start is with how you rest.

When we sleep on our left side, we can gently support the body’s natural drainage pathways. The thoracic duct, which is the largest lymphatic vessel in the body, runs up the left side and drains lymph fluid back into the bloodstream near the left collarbone.

Your lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump like your heart does for blood circulation. It relies on movement, breathing, muscle contractions and gentle pressure changes to help move fluid around the body.

While you sleep, you can support this process by:

• Sleeping on your left side to encourage lymph movement through the thoracic duct
• Placing a pillow under your knees or slightly elevating your legs to support fluid return from the lower body
• Creating space around your diaphragm with relaxed, deep breathing — your diaphragm is a major driver of lymph flow
• Gently stimulating areas like the collarbones and neck before bed to support the body’s natural drainage pathways

Small daily habits can make a big difference when it comes to supporting your lymphatic system.

Your body is always working to restore balance sometimes it just needs the right environment to do what it naturally knows how to do.

MORE SEROTONIN LESS CORTISOL
Your body loves calm.

Lymphatic drainage isn’t just about moving fluid it’s about creating a moment of deep relaxation, helping your nervous system shift out of stress mode and into rest + restore.

Less tension.
Less overwhelm.
More calm.
More feel-good energy.
Non negotiable take care of yourself ❤️.

One thing we talk about a lot in clinic is the belly button connection.

The fascia around your belly button can become tight and restricted from things like stress, shallow breathing, pregnancy, inflammation, surgery, and scar tissue.

When this area is tight, fluid can’t move as freely as it should, which can contribute to bloating, puffiness, and that feeling of congestion through the abdomen.

We also see a lot of people who are breathing into their chest rather than their belly. Your diaphragm is one of the main pumps for your lymphatic system, so shallow breathing can slow lymphatic flow too.

This is why we spend so much time working around the navel area in my Sculpt Detox Method.

By releasing tight fascia and encouraging deeper belly breathing, we often see a big change in how the tissue feels and how fluid moves through the body.

Sometimes the smallest area can have the biggest impact.

Conversations over massage, cellulite is one of the biggest topics that comes up.

The good news? Cellulite is completely normal and something most women have.

What many people don’t realise is that tight fascia, stagnant fluid, and even shallow breathing can make cellulite appear more noticeable.

Your diaphragm acts like a pump for your lymphatic system, so regular deep breathing can help support healthy fluid movement throughout the body.

Using our Sculpt Detox Cup consistently for 21 days can make a noticeable difference by helping to release tight fascia, improve fluid movement, and reduce congestion in the tissue.

Can we completely get rid of cellulite? No.

But can we make a big difference in its appearance? Absolutely.

After your initial 21-day reset, maintenance 2 times a week can help keep everything moving and support long-term results.

Better breathing.
Better flow.
Healthier tissue.
Less visible cellulite.
