Picton Street Dental

A little pink in the sink?

If your gums regularly bleed when you brush or floss, don’t simply brush it off. It can be an early sign that your gums need some extra care.

A hygiene appointment can help us work out what’s happening, remove built-up plaque and show you how to look after those areas at home.

$65 DENTAL CHECK-UP? NOW THAT’S SOMETHING TO SMILE ABOUT! 😁

When was the last time you had your teeth checked? If you’re having to think about it, it might be time for a visit!

The tricky thing about dental problems is that they don’t always come with a warning. Tooth decay and gum disease can develop without pain or obvious symptoms, which is why regular check-ups are so important.

A dental check-up helps us spot potential problems early, assess your teeth and gums, and give you a clearer picture of your oral health. Catching something early can also mean simpler, less costly treatment down the track.

And because looking after your smile shouldn’t have to break the bank, we’re making that first visit a little easier!

🦷 New Patient Special - Just $65 for a dental check-up!

Whether you’re new to the area, overdue for a check-up, or simply looking for a new dentist, we’d love to welcome you to Picton Street Dental.

Same smile. A few shades apart. 🦷✨

Professional teeth whitening works by lightening the natural colour of your enamel—not by changing the shape of your teeth or covering them up.

How much brighter your smile becomes will depend on your starting shade and the type of staining present. Fillings, crowns and veneers also won’t whiten in the same way as natural teeth, which is why a dental assessment comes first.

The aim? A noticeably brighter smile that still looks naturally yours. 😁

Sometimes a baby tooth needs a little help saying goodbye. 🦷👋

It may not be coming out naturally, or removing it may be recommended to support healthy dental development.

We know an extraction can sound like a big deal for a little mouth. That’s why we take our time, explain what’s happening in child-friendly language and help children feel calm and reassured throughout their appointment.

A gentle goodbye for the baby tooth, with plenty of care for the growing smile behind it. 🤍

Appointments can be booked through our website: pictonstreetdental.co.nz

There’s more than one shade of white - and your teeth didn’t miss the memo. 🦷

A dental shade guide helps us compare your natural tooth colour and set realistic expectations before whitening begins.

Your starting shade, the type of staining present and any existing crowns, fillings or veneers can all affect the final result. These restorations won’t lighten in the same way as natural enamel, which is why a professional assessment matters.

The goal isn’t an artificial, one-shade-fits-all smile. It’s a brighter result that still looks naturally yours. ✨

You’re this close to a healthier smile. 🤏🦷

And no, it doesn’t always require a complete overhaul.

It might begin with a check-up, a hygiene clean or one small change to how you brush and clean between your teeth.

Preventative dental care is about understanding what’s happening in your mouth, spotting changes early and finding practical ways to look after your smile.

One appointment, one question or one better habit at a time.
