Aged 58 Years

Beloved Wife to Kaiti Teinaki.
Doting mother to Joshua Noovao, Eli Noovao, Caleb Noovao and Anyah Noovao.
Adored grandmother to Mahalia Noovao and Jeremiah Noovao.
Cherished daughter of Teumere and Tearikiteau Noovao.
Beloved sister to Jane Herangi, Peggy Tuakura, Meti Noovao, Teariki Noovao, Edwin Morgan and Tumutoa Nicholls.

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend Annmarie's funeral service to be held at Rockhampton Baptist Church, 650 Norman Road, Norman Gardens on Thursday 13 August 2026, commencing at 1.00pm.

A burial will follow at Capricorn Coast Memorial Gardens, Tanby Road, Tanby.

Ana Noovao made her Silver Ferns debut in 1989.

Netball New Zealand is deeply saddened by the passing of former Silver Ferns captain Ana Noovao, who died peacefully on Sunday surrounded by her family in Rockhampton, Queensland, aged 58.

A gifted attacker with natural creativity and a beautiful feed, Ana debuted for the Silver Ferns in 1989, aged 21. She was named the 15th captain of the Silver Ferns in 1992 and played 23 tests in black across four seasons.

Proud of her Cook Islands heritage, she went on to play two seasons for the Cook Islands and later coached them to seventh at the 2007 World Netball Championships.

Her greatest legacy may be the players she taught. Generations of South Auckland schoolgirls came through her sessions, and more recently she kept building the game in her Queensland community.

Our aroha is with Ana's whānau, her friends and the netball community in Aotearoa, the Cook Islands and Australia.
