Here are 5 things that undo a fresh set faster than anything else:

1. Getting them wet too soon. Give your nails at least an hour before washing dishes or swimming. The product is still settling.

2. Picking at your cuticles. I know. It's tempting. But wet cuticles plus fresh gel is a lifting recipe.

3. Cooking with oil right after. Cooking sprays and hot oils can affect the surface finish. Wait a few hours if you can.

4. Peeling off the top coat. If something feels rough or tacky, contact me (your nail tech) don't pick at it.

5. Skipping gloves for cleaning. Bleach and harsh chemicals are the enemy of a long- lasting set.

The goal is always that your nails look as good in three weeks as they did walking out the door. These five things are the difference.

Most people assume I became a nail tech because I love nails. And yes; I do. But that’s not actually why I started.

I became a nail tech because I wanted something that was mine.

A job I could fit around my life. A skill nobody could take from me. Something that made people feel genuinely good… even on hard days.

I didn't expect to love it this much. I didn't expect that the hour someone spends in my chair would end up being the one quiet hour they get all week.

But here we are. And I wouldn't swap it for anything.
