Confidence - For Everyone At Central Skin Studio, we’re all about helping you feel confident in your skin. I can’t wait to see you in the studio,
Kendra
Based in Alexandra, we offer advanced skin treatments, laser services, and beauty therapies tailored to both men and women. With years of experience in the industry, I’ve created a space where results meet relaxation - because great skin shouldn’t be complicated. Whether you’re here for a facial, laser treatment, or a simple brow tidy, you’ll receive expert care designed just for you.
Silicones can give us that instant smooth, silky feeling — but there’s a difference between making the skin feel good and actually supporting the health of the skin barrier.
A little insight into why we do things differently with corneotherapy and Prologic Skin Care
10/08/2026
If you’ve been following along, you’ll know that corneotherapy isn’t about chasing quick fixes—it’s about restoring healthy skin function.
Everything we do follows a simple philosophy known as the 3 R’s of Corneotherapy.
🟤 Repair
Before we treat concerns like acne, rosacea or pigmentation, we repair the skin barrier. Using skin-identical lipids such as ceramides, cholesterol and linoleic acid helps replenish what’s been lost, reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and restore healthy barrier function.
🟤 Replenish
Once the barrier is functioning well, it’s time to nourish the skin with the nutrients it needs to thrive. Ingredients like niacinamide and panthenol support healthy skin cell function, calm inflammation and encourage balanced, resilient skin.
🟤 Regenerate
Only then do we encourage healthy skin renewal. Rather than relying on harsh peels or aggressive exfoliation, corneotherapy works with the skin’s natural desquamation cycle to promote regeneration without creating unnecessary inflammation.
This philosophy is the foundation of every Prologic product and every treatment we perform. Instead of forcing the skin to behave, we give it the tools it needs to function the way it was designed to.
Because healthy skin isn’t achieved by fighting it—it’s achieved by supporting it.

The Skin Intelligence Range has been specifically formulated to target pigmentation and photoageing by supporting every phase of the melanogenesis process. It works to:
🤎 Help reduce melanin production and transfer.
🤎 Support the skin’s natural DNA repair processes with Vitamin A.
🤎 Protect against future photoageing with antioxidant and photoprotective ingredients.
🤎 Nourish and strengthen the skin barrier with Kiwi Seed Oil and Carrot Seed Oil.
Your complimentary Enzyme Facial is the perfect way to prepare your skin, gently encouraging healthy cell turnover while respecting all three lines of your skin barrier. Using pineapple and papaya enzymes, it helps brighten, smooth and refine the skin without compromising barrier function.

Let’s talk about SLS & SLES.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) are two of the most commonly used cleansing agents in mainstream skincare. They’re responsible for that rich, foamy lather many people associate with feeling “clean.”
The problem? They’re incredibly effective at removing oil—but they don’t stop at excess oil. They can also remove the natural lipids and cause damage to your skin barrier.
Research has consistently shown that SLS can disrupt the stratum corneum, increase transepidermal water loss (TEWL), and deplete the skin’s natural lipid reserves. Over time, this can leave the skin feeling dry, tight, reactive, and more vulnerable to irritation.
From a corneotherapy perspective, cleansing should support the skin barrier—not strip it. Your microbiome and barrier rely on a healthy lipid matrix to function properly, so choosing gentle, barrier-supportive cleansers is one of the simplest ways to improve long-term skin health.
A cleanser doesn’t need to foam to cleanse effectively. Sometimes, less foam means more support for your skin.

Healthy skin isn’t just about the products you use—it’s also about the habits you practise every day.
😴 Prioritise sleep
Your skin follows a circadian rhythm, with many of its repair and regeneration processes most active overnight. Aim to be asleep before 10pm where possible, so your skin has the best opportunity to repair, regenerate and strengthen its barrier while you rest.
🛏️ Wash your pillowcase regularly
Your pillowcase collects oil, sweat, skincare residue and environmental debris. Changing it every 2–3 days can help minimise unnecessary build-up against your skin.
💧 Stay hydrated
A good general guide is around 35 mL of water per kilogram of body weight each day. For someone weighing 70 kg, that’s approximately 2.45 litres before adjusting for exercise, heat or illness. Healthy hydration supports every system in your body—including your skin.
🚿 Skip the hot water
If the water is hot enough to wash your dishes, it’s too hot for your face. Hot water strips away the lipids that make up your skin barrier, increasing water loss and leaving skin feeling tight, dry and more reactive. Stick to lukewarm water when cleansing.
🤎 Try skin soaking
One of my favourite barrier-supportive habits. After cleansing, press a lukewarm, damp microfibre cloth onto your skin for a minute or two. Remove the cloth, leave your skin damp, then apply your skincare straight away. Applying your products onto damp skin helps maximise hydration and gives your humectants the water they need to work effectively.
Healthy skin isn’t built by doing one thing perfectly.
It’s built by the small habits you practise consistently.

Parabens are some of the most widely used preservatives in skincare. They’re effective, stable and inexpensive, which is why they’re found in so many products.
However, they’re also among the most well-documented endocrine disruptors used in cosmetic formulations. Parabens can mimic oestrogen in the body, have been detected in human tissue, and have been associated with hormonal disruption and allergic reactions.
Like other conventional preservatives, they also can’t distinguish between harmful microorganisms and the beneficial bacteria that make up your skin’s microbiome.
This is one of the reasons Prologic chooses a different approach to formulation—one that supports both product stability and healthy skin function without relying on conventional preservative systems.
23/07/2026
If conventional preservatives can disrupt the skin barrier and microbiome, the next question is… how does Prologic keep its products safe?
It comes down to four key principles:
✨ Biomimetic ingredients – Prologic uses skin-identical ingredients, such as Vitamin C, Soy Lecithin and Vitamin E, that help support product stability while working with the skin rather than against it.
🧪 Sterile manufacturing – Products are manufactured in a controlled, aseptic environment to minimise contamination from the very beginning, reducing the need for traditional preservative systems.
🌿 High levels of antioxidants – Antioxidants help protect the formulation from oxidation, naturally supporting product stability while also benefiting the skin.
💧 Airless pump packaging – Airless packaging limits exposure to air and contamination during use, helping keep the product stable without relying on harsher preservatives.
Rather than relying on conventional preservatives alone, Prologic takes a smarter approach to formulation.
Every step—from ingredient selection to packaging, is designed to maintain product stability while respecting your skin’s natural barrier and microbiome.
