good evening y'all
today will be discussing on muscles spasm. have you ever experienced it before put it down in the comments.
let's dive in.
Muscle spasm is a sudden involuntary and often painful construction of one or more muscles that cannot relax. It is also known as muscle cramps which is a painful contraction and tightening of the muscles. it is always common, involuntary, and unpredictable.
SYMPTOMS
1. Sudden,intense, sharp pain.
2. Tightness and visible twitching.
3. Temporary restriction of movement.
CAUSES
1. MUSCLE OVERUSE: Because the muscles are overused ,this inturn triggers muscles to work without sufficient energy there by causing muscle spasm. when there is no enough energy supply to the muscles,it tends to cause muscle spasm.
2. FATIGUE: this occurs from pushing too hard causing failure in the communication between the nervous system and the muscles.
3. DEHYDRATION: muscles are 75% water, and lack of fluid directly impacts their performance and flexibility.
4. ELECTROLYTES: potassium, magnesium and calcium act as "spark plug" for muscle movement allowing them to contract and relax. Imbalance then occur when they is excessive sweating and this depletes their minerals and without the right electrolytes balance, the nerve system or signals to muscles are misfire.
TREATMENT
1. IMMEDIATE RELIEF: Gently stretch and massage the cramping muscle. for a calf cramp strengthen the legs and pull toes toward the skin.
2. HEAT OR COLD THERAPY: Use a heating pad or warm bath to relax tight muscles. use ice pack to reduce pain and inflammation.
3. HYDRATION; Drink plenty of fluids particularly water or sports drinks to address potential electrolyte imbalance.
4. PHYSICAL THERAPY AND EXERCISE: Regular, law impact exercise (swimming and walking) and stretching helps prevent future spasm.
5. MEDICATION:NSAIDs drugs can help with pain.Muscle relaxant n sedative are prescribed by doctors.
Note: if spasm a severe, frequent, long lasting.Seek doctor immediately.

Good evening lovelies.
how are y'all doing today.
I'll be discussing on pe**le myiasis.
let's dive in.

Pe**le myiasis is a rare, severe infestation of the male genitalia by fly larvae ( maggots), usually occurring in topical regions among individuals with poor hygiene, dementia or debilitating condition. it is caused by dermatobia hominis or cordylobia anthropophaga. it is an infestation of fly larvae on the p***s. it is characterized by Larvae feeding on living or dead tissues causing intense pain and potential destruction.
CAUSES
1. Poor hygiene.
2. Exposure to specific fly.
RISK FACTOR
1. NEGLECTED WOUND: larvae are attracted to pre-existing conditions like pe**le ulcerations, carcinoma or infections such as balanoposthitis.
2. INFESTED CLOTHING: larvae or eggs from flies can be deposited on clothes hung outside to dry, wearing them can cause larvae to pe*****te the skin.
3. Poor hygiene.

TREATMENT
it's involves prompt mechanical removal of larvae (maggots) typically using forceps often following asphyxiation techniques to force them to the surface.
primary treatment approaches include:
1. MECHANICAL REMOVAL: Performed by healthcare professionals often under local anesthesia.
2. SUFFOCATION TECHNIQUES: this is done by applying substances like petroleum jelly ,Vaseline ,liquid paraffin over the affected area, thus blocking oxygen to the larvae forcing them to emerge for air.
3. WOUND CARE AND DEBRIDEMENT: copious irritations (e.g normal saline)and removal of all the (necrotic) tissues are essential to allow for healing.
MEDICAL AND SURGICAL MANAGEMENT INCLUDES
1. ANTIBIOTICS: This is administered to treat or prevent secondary bacterial infections.
2. TETANUS PROPHYLAXIS: Given as a precaution if the wound is dirty or deep.
3. SURGICAL INTERVENTIONS: In severe or advanced cases with extensive tissue damage, surgical debridement or cases a graft or flap maybe necessary and circumcision may be performed to improve hygiene and prevent reoccurrence.

prevention of pe**le myiasis.
1. clothing care: iron clothes and keep them dry.
2. maintain high standard hygiene especially the ge****ls.
3. wound care.: Open wounds should always be covered to avoid flies from laying the larvae directly into the wound.
