I think I should begin thus....
In less than 24 hours, we will all get to know my would-be successor.
It will be the grand finale of the exciting & eventful preliminaries that has lasted for some weeks now.
This takes me into a journey of reflection, rehashing and introspection, as I relive those moments of a little more than a annum ago.
Prior to this, I had never assumed any political position or office before, not by appointment or by election.
However, there was this passion budding gradually inside me and the fire was ignited when this vision was birthed "FINSTAB".

I desired, Jehovah endorsed.
I emerged the "FINANCIAL SECRETARY OF THE 31ST STUDENTS' UNION.
I love to call this major milestone of my life a "quantum leap" because nobody saw me coming, no incipient signs or foreknowledge...... (Just as esoteric as the Melchidezek story).

The major catch points of my story are thus :
- I became the first female to emerge as the SUG FINANCIAL SECRETARY in a very long while (it is a male dominated office).
- I became the first student of my faculty, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies to clinch this lofty position.
- I emerged not just as a female in a male dominated position but also without being a student of Faculty of Management Sciences who are known for claiming to own and always producing candidates for this office annually.
- There is no treasurer in the 31st Students' Union even when it was statutorily provided for in the constitution at the time I contested. This means that I have to fill the vacancy and act in the stead of the Union's treasurer too. Doubled responsibility.
- I was not my predecessor's favourite candidate, I was not supposed to succeed him.....
- Lastly, I never had an actual nadir, I just ascended to the apex or zenith......

There are more but I just want to pinpoint the above in relation to the context of this text.
I do not know yet who my would-be successor will be, whether male or female. However if it is a female, I will be very proud for giving her a trailhead, for refusing to quail, flinch or shrink when I was threatened that I was not gonna win because I am a female and I am not a student of Faculty of Management Sciences.
I never allowed pusillanimity and cowardice to drown my ambition, I was obstinately tenacious, audacious and indefatigable about what I wanted.
I stayed dogged, indomitable, unwavering and dauntless till the very end.
There is a footprint to run on, I made sure to create that, a trailblazing and trendsetting one...
I can't be less prouder.

If you successfully read to this point, I can be very sure that you have had one or more lessions to learn and be encouraged. I have to drop my pen now. Look forward to reading me sooner...

100 DAYS OF IMPACT – THE REBIRTH ADMINISTRATION

Today marks 100 days in office for the 31st Students’ Union Executive Council of the University of Uyo under the Rebirth Administration.

In just 100 days, the administration has taken deliberate steps to improve the academic experience, strengthen student welfare, upgrade key facilities, and enhance communication between the Union and the students.

From course registration support, digital skills opportunities, and project support programmes, to school fees support, free medical screenings, and transport support for students, the Union has remained focused on initiatives that directly impact students’ lives.

The administration has also worked on renovations within the Students’ Union Secretariat and hostels, refurbishment of the Union bus, and maintenance of sports facilities, ensuring that students benefit from improved infrastructure and services.

Through activities such as the UNIYO Freshers Olympics, Mr/Mrs Freshers Pageantry, Uniuyo Christmas Experience, and the Fit & Flex fitness program, the Union has continued to promote student engagement and a vibrant campus life.

In the area of communication and information management, the Students’ Union Weekly Bulletin was launched, the official Students’ Union website is underway, and the Students’ Union Information Bank was established to strengthen feedback, complaints resolution, and information flow across the University community.

These first 100 days have laid a strong foundation for what the Rebirth Administration represents — progress, responsiveness, and impactful leadership for students of the University of Uyo.

The work continues. The impact continues. The Rebirth Administration remains committed to serving you better.

Heralding.......... Behold the queen marks her natal anniversary yet again
A queen was gifted to this ether a good number of sun years ago.
It was not a mistake nor was it a happenstance of chance, it was predestined and written in the scrolls of gold and diamond pen, that this ether will receive a stellar gift.
She did not arrive in pomp and pageantry but today nothing beats her pulchritude and grace 🔥
The constellations work in her favour because she came from the ether of the uncommon, where the milky way is beneath her feet because her Father is King.

"As the celestial curtain of twilight descends upon this most hallowed and halcyon of days, I find myself ensconced in the warm, golden light of another annum come to pass, the Gregorian calendar's pages has turned once more to unfurl the scroll of time.

Like a phoenix, I rise anew, shedding the tattered vestiges of yesterday's worn cloak, and donning the resplendent garb of possibility, as the whispers of dawn conspire to unfurl the petals of promise. Today, I stand at life's precipice, poised to seize the promise of a new chapter, to inhale the sweet, heady fragrance of dreams yet to unfold and to quaff the intoxicating wine of tomorrow's potential.

The odyssey of another year stretches before me, a labyrinth of twists and turns, with trials to temper, triumphs to beckon and the unvanquished promise of tomorrow, a siren's call to venture forth, to explore the uncharted territories of the heart and to unfurl the sails of aspiration upon the shoreless seas of time. And as I embark upon this wondrous journey, I am reminded of the infinite potential that resides within, the hidden reservoirs of strength, the unmined veins of creativity and the unsounded depths of the human spirit.

Here is to the odyssey of another year, with its messianic promise, its paschal mysteries and its whispered secrets.
