GRACE JOURNEY OF HER PREGNANCY CHAPTER 4

Hours passed.
Grace squeezed Daniel's hand.
Hard, harder and very
Very hard.
Daniel regretted every joke he had ever made.
Mama Ruth whispered prayers.
The contractions grew stronger.
Grace was exhausted.
"I can't do this mama grace said
Mama Ruth leaned close.
"Women have been saying that for generations."
Grace laughed through tears.
"And every one of them did it." Mama grace said
Every time feels like eternity to Daniel, after about 4 hours labour, grace was fully dilated and she was pushed to the labour room for the delivery.
The room fell silent.
One final push.
One final effort.
And then—
A cry.
A beautiful cry.
The cry of new life.

"It's a girl." The doctor said
Tears streamed down Grace's face and
Daniel cried openly.
Mama Ruth cried harder than both of them.
They named her Hope.
Because hope had carried them through every challenge.

Hope opened her tiny eyes.
Grace held her close.
The world suddenly changed.
She was no longer someone's daughter.
No longer someone's wife.
Now she was somebody's mother and the joy superseded the labour pains.
After two days grace was discharged and went home to meet a surprise welcome home party and her "push" gift a brand new iPhone 16 pro max, she was very happy but Mama Ruth was the happiest because she was the latest grandmother.

The reality of motherhood begin.
Hope cried at midnight.
At 2 a.m.
At 4 a.m.
At 5 a.m.
Nobody slept because she cries a lot
Even the neighbors knew Hope existed.

Grace struggled.
The baby struggled.
Everyone struggled.
Mama Ruth reassured her.
"Learning takes time for both mother and baby."

Be patient with yourself

One afternoon Grace cried for no reason.
She felt overwhelmed.
Scared.
Exhausted.

"Motherhood is beautiful."

And that's okay.
two months pass and Hope smiled.

Grace slowly regained confidence.
