I came across a TikTok video of a foreigner proposing to his Filipina partner.

What broke my heart was their story.

Just imagine they waited five years for each other. Five years of choosing one another despite the distance. Five years of conversations, sacrifices, missed moments and holding on to a future they both dreamed of.

Both of them were deaf. Yet somehow, they found a love that understood each other more deeply than many people ever will.

And then, after all those years of waiting, they finally got their forever.

Only for it to last 6 days.

6 days after the proposal, the Filipina passed away from a heart attack.

And that’s when the painful realization hits.

Sometimes love is unfair to the people who love the purest.

Some people take love for granted while others spend years fighting for it only to have it taken away when they finally get it.

Imagine waiting half a decade just to hear “yes.”

Imagine finally believing that all the waiting was worth it.

Imagine making plans for a future together.

Then suddenly, life says no.

Stories like this remind us that love is not measured by how long two people stay together. Sometimes it’s measured by how deeply they loved despite the time they were given.

And maybe that’s what makes this story so painful.

They waited five years for forever.

But forever only gave them six days. 💔
