In 1066… one battle changed England forever.
The Battle of Hastings was not just a war…
it was a fight for the crown.
After the death of King Edward the Confessor,
there was no clear heir.
So one man took the throne…
Harold Godwinson.
But across the sea…
another man was coming for it.
William the Conqueror.
Harold had just won a brutal battle in the north…
but he had no time to rest.
William’s army had already landed.
Tired… outnumbered…
Harold marched south to face him.
On the battlefield…
the English formed a shield wall.
Strong. Unbreakable.
But William had a different strategy.
He pretended to retreat…
and the English chased.
That was the mistake.
The formation broke.
Chaos followed.
And in that moment…
everything changed.
Harold fell.
And with him…
an entire kingdom.
William became king.
And England…
would never be the same again.

He built a city
stone by stone.
Watched it grow.
Watched it thrive.
People came.
Trade flourished.
Then one day—
he returned…
and the gates were open.
The fires were cold.
No voices.
No footsteps.
Just a city…
that forgot its people.
He gave everything to build it…
A city full of life and purpose.
But one day, it was all gone.
No war.
No warning.
Just silence.
So tell me—
what could make an entire city disappear like that?

They didn’t need to destroy history…
they just needed to control what survived.
Some cities vanished.
Some names disappeared.
Some stories were never written.
And now
what you know feels complete.
But is it?
So ask yourself—
are you learning history…
or what you were allowed to learn?
👇 Say it honestly
