Silky, not gritty. Creamy, not airy.
Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how I create a smooth, non-grainy body butter that actually feels luxurious on the skin. I take shea butter (lovely butter btw but tricky to work with once melted due to it’s fatty acid composition), and transform it into a silky luxe texture that glides smoothly on the skin ✨
Beeswax is added as an extra occlusive element and to gently raise the melting point (so your body butter stays stable in this warm weather of ours 🫠). At 40°C, arrowroot powder is mixed in to keep the butter light without any heaviness and as the mixture cools further, I add lavender essential oil for a calming scent (amongst other benefits), Vitamin E & Rosemary CO2 extract for their antioxidant benefits.
I’ve used an electric mixer head instead of a whisk because I prefer rich, silky butters over airy ones - and the result speaks for itself: a glossy, non-grainy body butter that melts beautifully into the skin.

These personalized body creams were formulated for a client who felt her skin had become darker from tanning and wanted to gently return to her original tone. I’ve used brightening/lightening actives like Kojic Acid, Sepi-White MSH and Alpha Arbutin strictly within safe, recommended levels so the result is subtle, even-toned skin (not more than a shade lighter) instead of drastic color change 😐
