A little throwback to when I visited Makoko village with my younger sister 🌊🛶

Honestly, I didn’t really know what to expect before going there. The moment we entered with the wooden boats and saw houses standing on water, it felt like stepping into another world entirely. At first, I was excited… but deep down, I was also a little scared 😅 especially seeing how people move around so freely on the water like it’s a normal road to them.

The funniest part was how the children were smiling and waving at us like they had known us forever. Some were even swimming confidently in the water while I was busy trying not to panic inside the boat 😂

One thing I’ll never forget was how hardworking the people there are. Early in the morning, you could already see women selling fresh fish, men paddling canoes, and little kids helping their parents. Life there may look tough from the outside, but the energy and happiness of the people was something else.

After touring around for a while, my sister and I finally decided to buy some fresh fish before heading home. And trust me, that fish tasted different… probably because it came straight from the source 😍🐟

Looking back now, I’m really happy I experienced it. Makoko may look scary at first, but it’s also beautiful in its own unique way. Definitely one adventure I won’t forget anytime soon ❤️
