THE GIRL CALLED SANDRA – EPISODE 2

The slap from her eldest brother left more than a mark on Sandra's face.

It left a wound in her heart.

For days, nobody spoke to her kindly. Even after the missing money was found inside her brother's old shirt pocket, no one apologized.

Instead, everyone acted as if nothing had happened.

Sandra learned a painful lesson that day:

As the years passed, life became harder.

At nine years old, Sandra woke up before sunrise every day to sweep the compound, wash dishes, fetch water, and help her mother at the market.

One afternoon, while helping her mother sell vegetables, she met a girl named Adaeze. Adaeze was cheerful, kind, and quickly became Sandra's only friend.

For the first time, Sandra felt seen.

The two girls spent every free moment together, sharing dreams about becoming successful women someday.

"I want to be a nurse," Adaeze would say.

"And I want to be someone important," Sandra replied with a smile.

But happiness never stayed long in Sandra's life.

One market day, a customer reported that some money had disappeared from her stall.

Without any proof, fingers immediately pointed at Sandra.

To make matters worse, Adaeze—the one person Sandra trusted—said she had seen Sandra standing near the money.

Sandra couldn't believe her ears.

"Adaeze, you know I didn't take it!" she cried.

But Adaeze avoided her eyes.

The crowd became angry.

People insulted her, called her a thief, and chased her from the market.

Sandra ran home in tears.

That evening, she sat alone under a mango tree behind their house.

The pain of betrayal hurt more than any beating she had ever received.

The one friend she trusted had abandoned her when she needed her most.

As tears rolled down her cheeks, an old woman from the village slowly approached her.

She looked at Sandra for a long moment and said something that would change her life forever:

"My child, your suffering is not the end of your story. One day, the people who mock you will be shocked by what God is preparing for you."

Sandra looked up, confused.

THE GIRL CALLED SANDRA – EPISODE 1

Sandra was born in a small village called Umuokoro in Abia State. She was the last child of eight children and, from the day she was born, many people believed she was a mistake.

Her father was a poor farmer while her mother sold vegetables in the local market. Life was never easy, but Sandra's life seemed harder than everyone else's.

As a little girl, she rarely received the love and attention her older siblings enjoyed. Whenever food was not enough, Sandra was the one expected to go hungry. Whenever chores needed to be done, Sandra was the first person called.

"You're the youngest, so you must learn," her elder sister would always say.

At the age of seven, Sandra was already fetching water from a stream far from the village while other children played under the evening sun. She would carry heavy buckets that made her tiny shoulders ache.

One rainy evening, after returning from the stream, she overheard her aunt speaking to her mother.

"That girl brings nothing but bad luck. Since she was born, things have only gotten worse."

Sandra froze behind the mud wall.

Bad luck?

Was that how people saw her?

That night, she cried silently on her raffia mat while everyone slept.

The next morning, things became even worse.

Her eldest brother accused her of stealing money he had misplaced. Without listening to her explanation, he slapped her in front of everyone.

"I didn't take it," Sandra cried.

But nobody believed her.

For the first time in her young life, Sandra realized something painful...

In a house full of people, she was completely alone.
