Can you spot the change? Pix 1 was taken July 22 when I infused the dried lemon peel. Today (a week later), I took the second picture.
Three weeks to go before I strain and use the oil.

It is a known fact that I love working with herbs. I got a lemon from my sister, peeled it and used the juice.
I dried the peel and decided to infuse it this morning.
I will patiently wait for the 4 weeks duration before use.
I will be updating you, though

Skincare Mistakes Making Your Dry Skin Worse
You think you’re fixing the flakes, but you might actually be causing them. 😳
❌️Stop scrubbing the flakes with harsh scrubs.
This aggressiveness will rip open your skin barrier, causing more inflammation, irritation, and—you guessed it—even more peeling.
Put down the scrub. Switch to a gentle chemical exfoliant like Lactic Acid or PHAs (Polyhydroxy Acids) just 1–2 times a week. They dissolve the dead skin cells gluing the flakes down without scratching your skin. Even quicker fix: Use a warm, soft microfiber washcloth to gently buff the skin while rinsing your cleanser.
❌️Stop applying moisturiser on a bone-dry skin.
Most moisturisers rely on humectants to pull water into the skin. If your face is completely dry, there’s no moisture for the product to grab onto, so it just sits on top.
Try the 3-Second Rule. Never dry your face completely after washing. While your skin is still damp (or after a generous mist of a hydrating toner), immediately apply your serums and moisturisers. This traps that water right into your stratum corneum.
❌️Stop using hot water to wash your face.
Hot water melts away the natural sebum and lipids that keep your skin barrier intact, completely stripping your face and leaving it tight and parched.
Turn the dial down to lukewarm or cool water. If you love steaming hot showers, wash your face at the sink before or after your shower so you aren't blasting your facial skin with high temperatures.
❌️Stop using a foaming, squeaky-clean cleanser.
If your skin feels tight or "squeaky" after washing, your cleanser just stripped your already-fragile moisture barrier.
Swap it out for a non-foaming cream, milk, or hydrating lotion cleanser. Look for formulas that don't lather aggressively and are packed with glycerin or ceramides so your skin feels soft and supple the moment you rinse.
❌️Stop loading up on facial oils instead of moisturizer.
Oils are emollients and occlusives—they seal things in and soften the surface, but they do not add hydration (water) to the skin. If you only use oil, your skin stays dehydrated underneath.
Layer, don't replace. Apply your water-based hydrating serums and a cream moisturizer first to give your skin the water it craves. Then, pat 2–3 drops of a pure plant oil (like Rosehip or Almond oil) on top as the final step to lock everything in like a protective blanket.
Which of these are you guilty of? Let me know in the comments, and save this to keep your barrier safe!
