Some nurture.
Some inspire.
Some educate.
Some serve.
Some simply show up when it matters most.
And sometimes, the impact of a womanโs life is not measured by how many people know her name, but by how many lives are better because she existed. โค๏ธ
To every woman making a difference in her own little wayโwe see you, we celebrate you, and we appreciate you. ๐ฅ๐

๐ Sometimes, the most important thing a patient gets from the pharmacy isn't a medicineโฆ it's information.
Let me tell you about a young woman who walked into the pharmacy with a laboratory test result.
She already had a list of medications with some of them ticked, and she came in ready to purchase them.
At first, it looked like a straightforward request.
She had her result.
She had the medications she wanted.
She just needed us to dispense them.
But I decided to take a little more time to understand the situation.
I went through the result with her and asked a few questions about what she had been experiencing, why the test was done and what treatment she had already started.
And this is where things became interesting.
She was about to use antibiotics in a way that could potentially be inappropriate for her situation.
So instead of simply saying, โOkay, here are your medicines,โ we had a conversation.
I explained why antibiotics shouldn't be taken simply because they appear on a list or because someone thinks they need a โstrongโ medicine.
We discussed what her results actually meant, which findings required attention, and why the appropriate treatment should be based on the clinical picture and the healthcare professional's assessmentโnot just on a tick beside a medication.
And then she mentioned something else.
Something she hadn't even come to the pharmacy to discuss.
She had another health issue that she had been managing on her own because she didn't realize that it was actually something that needed attention.
That conversation changed the direction of the entire visit.
Instead of leaving with only the medicines she initially came to buy, she now understood what needed to be addressed, what required professional evaluation, and why she shouldn't just take medications randomly.
And honestly, one of my favourite parts came at the end.
She asked for my contact.
She told me she was grateful that I had taken the time to patiently explain everything to her.
And that reminded me of something I believe strongly:
Good pharmacy care is not just about dispensing what a patient asks for.
Sometimes, it's about asking the extra question.
Sometimes, it's about explaining a laboratory result in simple language.
Sometimes, it's about preventing inappropriate antibiotic use.
And sometimes, it's about helping someone discover a health problem they didn't even know they needed to address.
Information gives people the confidence to make better health decisions.
So the next time you walk into a pharmacy with a prescription, laboratory result or even a medication you're unsure aboutโฆ
Ask questions.
Don't be afraid to say,
โPharmacist, please explain this to me.โ
Because understanding what you're taking can be just as important as getting the medicine itself. ๐๐ฟ
โ Diary of Akiri Blessing ๐
๐ โWhat are you treating?โ
If you walk into a pharmacy and ask for an antibiotic, don't be surprised if the pharmacist asks you this question.
You may be thinking:
โI just want the antibiotic. Why all these questions?โ ๐
But here's the thingโฆ
An antibiotic isn't a general-purpose medicine for every infection.
Before recommending or dispensing one, the pharmacist needs to understand what you're actually trying to treat.
Is it a bacterial infection?
What symptoms are you experiencing?
How long have you had them?
Have you seen a doctor or had any tests done?
Are you already taking any medication?
These questions aren't meant to delay you.
They're part of safe medication practice. ๐
Because taking the wrong antibiotic, using the wrong dose or using antibiotics when they aren't needed can contribute to treatment failure and antibiotic resistance.
So the next time your pharmacist asks:
โWhat are you treating?โ
Don't take it personally. ๐
They're simply trying to make sure that what you receive is appropriate for your situation.
Sometimes, the best pharmacy service isn't simply saying:
โHere is your medicine.โ
It's asking the right questions first. ๐๐ฟ

If someone had told me years ago that I would one day be creating content around health, pharmacy, lifestyle, faith and everyday experiences, I probably would have smiled and said, โLet's see.โ ๐
But life has a beautiful way of revealing your purpose one step at a time.
As a pharmacist, I've met people who came into the pharmacy looking for medicineโฆ
But what they really needed was information.
A simple explanation.
Someone willing to listen.
Someone to say, โLet me explain this to you.โ
Those little moments have shaped the person I am becoming.
And somewhere along the way, Diary of Akiri Blessing became more than just a page.
It became a place where I can share the pharmacist behind the prescriptionโฆ
The woman behind the professionโฆ
The lessons, laughter, faith, lifestyle, experiences and everything in between. ๐
And yes, PharmBcares will always be a big part of that journey. ๐๐
So here's to the journey so farโฆ
And to everything still unfolding. โจ
This is my story.
This is my journey.
And I'm just getting started. ๐ชถ

๐ POV: When the team didn't understand the assignmentโฆ BUT WE STILL TRIED!
Sometimes, you start something with confidenceโฆ
Only to realize halfway through:
โWaitโฆ is THIS actually how we're supposed to do it?โ ๐ญ๐
And that's okay.
Not every beginning has to be perfect.
Sometimes you learn by trying.
Sometimes you learn by getting it wrong.
Sometimes you laugh, regroup and try again. ๐
What matters is that you don't give up because your first attempt wasn't perfect.
At DOABLE, we believe in taking action, learning along the way and becoming better with every attempt. ๐ฑโจ
You don't have to have everything figured out before you start.
Just START.
Learn.
Adjust.
DO IT BETTER. ๐โจ

My friend's beautiful baby was dedicated today, and of course, I had to carry the little one. ๐ฅนโค๏ธ
Then came the playful partโฆ ๐
I was already trying to hand the baby over to another choir member like, โMadam, your turn!โ ๐คฃ
But somewhere between the pictures, the laughter and all the playful moments, I had a little thought:
God's promises will get to everyone at His own appointed time. ๐๐ฝ
Sometimes we look around and see people celebrating what we've been praying for.
A wedding.
A baby.
A new job.
A breakthrough.
A beautiful testimony.
And we wonder, โWhen will it be my turn?โ ๐ฅน
But someone else's celebration doesn't mean your own has been cancelled.
Their testimony is not evidence that God has forgotten you. โค๏ธ
So today, I choose to celebrate with my friend wholeheartedly.
Because I believe that when my own testimony comes, there will be celebration too. ๐๐๐ฝ
Until thenโฆ
I will rejoice with those who rejoice, keep trusting God and wait for my own beautiful chapter. ๐
๐ฌ What promise are you trusting God for in your own season? ๐๐๐ฝ
