I can take pride in the fact that, over the past five years, I have received very few complaints or bad reviews. In all honesty, I remember every person who expressed being unhappy with their purchase because there have been so few.
And I am grateful to each person who approached me to share their disappointment. I always try my best to understand what went wrong and find a solution.
Recently, two comments appeared on my posts, stating what hadn’t worked or what someone hadn’t liked. Of course, I felt bad reading them. I immediately reached out to understand exactly what had happened so I could figure out the best solution.
But there was no response to my follow-up.
Someone told me, “They were just trolling.” I didn’t accept that statement straight away, and I still cannot know what their intentions were. But it made me question the choice to publicly criticise a brand before even giving the people behind it a chance to help.
When I am unhappy with a purchase or an experience, I contact the business directly first. If they ignore the problem or show no willingness to offer a solution, then I might consider expressing my disappointment on their public platforms. But first, I give them the opportunity to put things right.
What makes this harder to understand is that we are a small, approachable business. You can message us and speak directly to the person who created your product. We are not a huge conglomerate where your complaint might receive an automated response and leave you struggling to reach an actual person.
I am here. I respond. I listen. And I care about your experience.
I also openly share the realities of building this business, so our community sees the work, the challenges and the people behind Charlotte Skin. Knowing how accessible we are, why choose to publicly criticise before even approaching us? And when we reach out to help, why leave that conversation unanswered?
Does that necessarily mean someone is ill-intentioned? Perhaps not. But I do question how fair that approach is when we were never given the chance to fix the problem in the first place.
I leave this thought here. I may be wrong, but I would never publicly attack someone’s brand without first seeing whether they were willing to find a solution.
With that said, if you have ever had an experience with Charlotte Skin that left you disappointed, please reach out to us. We always welcome feedback and want to offer you the best we can. 🤍
Let’s be honest, being self-employed, starting a business and stepping into entrepreneurship, it is not for the weak!
People see the products, the events and the milestones. They don’t always see the decisions you carry home, the months when sales are slow, or the times you make sure everyone else is paid before you pay yourself.
I feel proud of how far Charlotte Skin has come, but I often also wonder how I’ll keep it all going. Both are part of this journey.
I love what I’ve built, but I won’t pretend it’s easy. I’m still here, showing up, learning and doing my best to move forward. 🤍

My Superman ❤️
You’ve seen him at our events, promoting and selling Charlotte Skin products with so much passion that he has become known as “our best seller.”
Fabrice has not simply watched Charlotte Skin grow. From the moment I decided to launch this business, he has shown a genuine interest in everything I do, always sharing his ideas, thoughts and suggestions.
I often say that I spent the first three years doing everything alone, but behind me was the constant encouragement and moral support of a husband who believed in me and in what I was building.
He loves joking that he was Charlotte Skin’s very first employee, and he never forgets to mention that he worked for free! 😂
When he first started accompanying me to sales events, he had no idea how to sell my products and was not yet involved in production. He would listen carefully as I spoke to customers, then repeat everything I said so he could learn how to present and explain each product.
Eventually, he became even better than me at selling! He has even received offers from other business owners to join their sales teams. 😂
Having my husband’s support and approval in what I do has always meant so much to me. It could not have been easy for him to watch me transform our beautiful home into a workshop, with almost every corner taken over by production materials, products and storage. Yet he understood what was being built.
We reached a point where guests barely had anywhere to sit because our entire living room had become a warehouse. These are some of the unseen realities and sacrifices we made to allow Charlotte Skin to grow.
Five years later, we finally have our home back and a proper workshop dedicated to production and storage.
Last year, Fabrice took an even bigger step by joining the Charlotte Skin team full-time and dedicating himself to the development and expansion of the business.
For us, this is a beautiful achievement as a couple, to work side by side and grow something we are both passionate about, guided by a shared vision and love.
Charlotte Skin may have begun as my dream, but along the way, it became ours. ❤️

Thank you for your feedback.
Feedback is essential to our growth. It helps us improve our products and the experiences we create, whether a customer suggests something new or shares that an experience did not quite meet their expectations. Every comment is heard and considered as an opportunity to do better.
I would always prefer that a customer shares their disappointment with me and gives us the chance to make things right, rather than remaining silent and leaving us unaware of what could have been improved.
Will we please everyone and meet every expectation? That is always our aim, but we also understand that not everyone will connect with what we offer, and that is perfectly okay.
What we can proudly say is that we listen. We welcome your requests, suggestions and honest opinions. This is one of the reasons Charlotte Skin offers such a wide selection today: you ask, we listen, and we work to bring your ideas to life, while remaining true to our values, quality and identity.
Thank you for helping us grow, evolve and serve you better. ♥️

Sent to me by my lovely customer who was scrolling through her old pictures!
What a joy to have supporters who have been here since the very beginning and seen the evolution of our brand.
5 years of support and love from so many of you who have believed in our products from the very beginning. Given us your trust and allowed us to grow into who we are today as a local Mauritian brand.
Thank you Estelle Lebrasse for sharing this beautiful memory✨

My Story with Candles
My passion for candles began long before Charlotte Skin.
I have always loved decorating my surroundings and creating spaces that feel warm, peaceful and inviting. When I lived in Dubai, candles in different shapes, colours and fragrances filled every corner of my apartment.
One day, I decided to learn how to make them myself. I began experimenting with different vessels, colours and designs, without imagining that this little hobby would, many years later, grow into a full-fledged business.
At the time, I was working as a flight attendant and was always finding new ways to spend my days off. Making candles became an activity that allowed me to quiet my mind, relax and express my creativity.
My connection with candles has always been deeply rooted in wellbeing. I needed to feel calm, comforted and at peace. Lighting a candle created a space where I could pause, shut out the noise and simply rest.
When I left my apartment in Dubai to return to Mauritius, I came home with a suitcase filled with candles because I could not let go of what they represented to me.
Back in my homeland, I had to find a way to begin again. I explored different ideas, learned new skills and tried many things before eventually creating Charlotte Skin.
Candles were introduced one year after the launch of the business. The success they experienced felt natural because they complemented everything Charlotte Skin already represented: wellbeing, creativity, comfort and meaningful experiences.
Charlotte Skin was never created simply to make and sell products. There is meaning and depth behind its existence, as well as a profound connection to the world of its creator.
It was born from my desire to extend my own wellness cocoon to others, creating with intention, meaning and passion.
Charlotte Skin is, quite simply, an extension of who I am, shared with others through every creation.
