Depilatory creams work by chemically breaking down keratin, the structural protein that makes up the hair shaft. This can leave the hair weakened and broken at or just beneath the skin’s surface.

When waxing follows too soon, these shortened or weakened hairs may be difficult for the wax to grip and remove completely, resulting in residual hair and inconsistent removal.

At GREYLUX, I advised my client to discontinue depilatory cream and allow the hair to regrow naturally through its full growth cycle before her next waxing sessions.

With consistent waxing and proper aftercare over several sessions, we can work toward more uniform hair removal and a progressively finer-looking regrowth pattern.
