IT WILL TAKE FOUR DAYS TO GET PASSPORT-MINISTER
Maseru----- The Minister of Home Affairs and Police Ms. Voeswa Tsheka
says it will now take four working days for every Mosotho to get a
passport after submitting an application.
In her statement on Friday, the Minister stated that the development
comes following a successful clearance of a backlog comprising 64,000
passports which was done in three months from July 01st 2026 to
September 17 2026. She pointed out that this was done in accordance
with the Prime Minister's commitment made at the beginning of July
this year.
" We will monitor turnaround times closely and hold ourselves
accountable for meeting this commitment", she said.
Meanwhile, the Minister indicated that following an announcement
requesting voluntary surrender of diplomatic passports from holders,
89 passports have been surrendered. She however pointed out that 434
diplomatic passports remain in the hands of people who are no longer
entitled to hold them. She indicated that the Ministry will commence a
process of contacting such persons adding that they will revoke such
passports where warranted, pursuant to the law and applicable
procedures.
She acknowledged those who came forward for their cooperation and
commitment to protecting the integrity of the diplomatic passports of
Lesotho. She further acknowledged Basotho for their patience and
understanding as well as the passport services management and staff
together with the accounts officers who worked extended hours and
weekends to serve the nation.
The Minister further expressed appreciation to the Lesotho Mounted
Police Service (LMPS) for their 'tireless efforts to uproot corruption
within passport services'.
"We remain committed to serving Basotho with dignity, fairness and
efficiency while safeguarding the credibility of our national
documents", she concluded.
The issue of delayed access to passports has been troubling Basotho
for several years now, some complaining that it has contributed to job
losses as those who work in South Africa could not travel because they
struggled to get passports.

My Skin. My Ritual.
As the woman behind HillCity Herbals™, I believe skincare is also an act of self-care.
Our Skin Oil has stinging nettle as its main botanical base, complemented by sunflower seeds and traditional olive tree leaves.
For me, using the Skin Oil is part of my personal skincare ritual — giving my skin the care and nourishment it needs to look and feel healthy, soft and cared for.
I believe getting older does not mean we stop caring about our skin. We can continue to nurture it, moisturise it and give ourselves those quiet moments of self-care.
🌿 HillCity Skin Oil

Meet the Woman Behind HillCity Herbals™
I’m Margaret Mamolise Lawrence, Founder & MD of HillCity Herbals™.
My journey with HillCity began with something very personal — my own relationship with natural self-care and the African plants and traditions I grew up knowing.
Stinging nettle became especially meaningful to me. I use our Skin Oil as part of my personal skincare routine and our Skin Balm for body massage and moments when I simply need to slow down, relax and care for myself.
For me, wellness is not only about how we look. It is also about taking a moment to recognise when our bodies and minds need care.
That is why mental-health awareness, self-care and wellness are part of the HillCity Herbals™ journey.
We are a cosmetics and wellness brand, inspired by African natural knowledge and made in Lesotho.
🌿 Pure. Natural. Honest.
