Police Charge Suspect with Murder Following Discovery of 19-Year-Old’s Body in Paynesville

MONROVIA — The Liberia National Police (LNP) has formally charged Augustine Lendeh, commonly known as "T-Boy," with murder following the death of 19-year-old Oretha "Dearest" Paye.

The arrest has rekindled hopes for justice among grieving family members and residents of the Omega Old Field Community in Paynesville, where the incident took place.

The Investigation

According to the LNP charge sheet, Paye’s body was discovered on July 29 at approximately 8:15 p.m., lying roughly 26 feet from Lendeh’s residence. Investigators reported that the victim sustained multiple injuries and showed no signs of life when discovered.

The victim's mother, Alice Flomo, informed police investigators that her daughter had left home to go to Lendeh’s residence to retrieve her personal clothing. She never returned.

Following preliminary investigations, Lendeh was taken into police custody and officially charged with murder. The case is expected to be forwarded to court for formal prosecution as community members and human rights advocates call for a swift and transparent trial.

HEADLINE: GARRISON JALLAH PAYS TRIBUTE TO "GODNAGOD" AFTER SHOCK RESIGNATION AHEAD OF KICKBALL PLAYOFFS

Garrison Koikoi Jallah has paid special tribute to Safei’s Sisters Kickball Club coach, Varney T. Curtis, popularly called “Godnagod”, following the coach’s sudden resignation ahead of the National Kickball Playoffs.

In a statement posted online, Jallah described Curtis as an _“aspiring and emerging erudite kickball coach and brother”_ whose impact on the game will not be forgotten.

According to BNC Online TV, the young and charismatic coach led Safei’s Sisters KC to new heights in their debut season in the Second Division Kickball League before stepping down with immediate effect.

Though thousands of miles away, Jallah said he chose not to speculate on the reasons behind the resignation. Instead, he reflected on Curtis’ journey — from walking long distances to train his players in Jah Tondo, to coaching a team that lacked transport, equipment, and even basic balls.

Jallah recalled how “Godnagod” used loyalty and tactical brilliance to inspire his players and even defeat a team once considered unbeatable. That rainy-day victory, he said, left fans amazed and showed Curtis’ future in the sport.

_“Many fans and players are disappointed. Not just because the club lost a great tactician, but because a young man who gives his all was forced to make a tough decision,”_ Jallah wrote.

He added that with Curtis now available, other clubs will likely come calling. But he believes the coach is _“destined for the top”_ and will one day be crowned a First Division champion.

Jallah closed with: _“Your journey has only begun, Legend. All the best, Varney Tonia Curtis. Keep rising.”_ 🏆
