Diabetes: Causes & Symptoms
Diabetes is a chronic condition that occurs when the body cannot properly use or produce enough insulin — the hormone that regulates blood sugar. Over time, high blood sugar can damage vital organs such as the heart, kidneys, eyes, and nerves. Here’s what you need to know:
Causes / Risk Factors:
✔️ Poor diet high in sugar and processed foods
✔️ Lack of physical activity
✔️ Being overweight or obese
✔️ Family history of diabetes
✔️ High blood pressure or cholesterol
✔️ Stress and unhealthy lifestyle habits
Symptoms:
✔️ Frequent urination, especially at night
✔️ Excessive thirst and hunger
✔️ Unexplained weight loss
✔️ Fatigue and weakness
✔️ Slow-healing wounds or frequent infections
✔️ Blurred vision or tingling in hands and feet
If you notice these symptoms, get your blood sugar tested as soon as possible. Early management can help prevent serious complications.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) can happen when there is reduced blood flow to the p***s, nerve damage, or hormonal imbalance that affects normal sexual function. In many cases, conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, stress, obesity, or smoking can damage the blood vessels and nerves needed for a proper er****on. When blood flow is not strong enough, it becomes difficult to achieve or maintain an er****on. Over time, this can also affect confidence and emotional wellbeing. Managing underlying health conditions, staying physically active, reducing stress, and seeking medical help early can significantly improve or prevent erectile dysfunction.

Diabetes can damage the kidneys over time by affecting the tiny blood vessels that filter waste from the blood. When blood sugar stays high for a long period, it puts extra pressure on these filters, making them weak and less effective. As a result, the kidneys may start leaking protein into the urine and gradually lose their ability to clean the blood properly. If not managed well, this damage can lead to kidney disease, which is why controlling blood sugar, blood pressure, and having regular checkups is very important for people with diabetes.

An enlarged prostate can sometimes cause referred pain in the lower back. This means the pain is felt in the back even though the problem starts in the prostate or urinary system. The prostate, bladder, kidneys, and lower back share some of the same nerves, so the brain can mistakenly interpret pain signals as coming from the back. If the enlarged prostate blocks the flow of urine, pressure can build up in the bladder or kidneys, leading to a dull aching pain in the lower back.
