Have you ever coloured your human hair and wondered why it suddenly felt rough?
You are not alone, and the reason is more reassuring than you think.
Every real strand is wrapped in a delicate outer layer called the cuticle. To deposit colour, the process has to open that cuticle. Once it does, the surface feels rougher and loses moisture more easily. That is chemistry, not a flaw.
And to settle a common myth: roughness alone does not tell you whether hair is real or fake. Genuine human hair simply responds this way to colour.
The difference is care. Premium hair, with its cuticle intact and aligned, holds colour beautifully and softens again with the right routine. Deep condition, add slip, rinse cool, handle gently.
