Incontriamo i designer ospiti al mudaC con la mostra Arredo Urbano, approfondimento di White Carrara 2026 a cura di Domenico Raimondi Thesignlab.

Studio Lievito è tra i vincitori del Primo Premio Internazionale White Carrara.

Fondato a Firenze nel 2012 da Laura Passalacqua, Francesco Taviani e Jacopo Volpi è uno studio di design orientato alla ricerca, tra design di prodotto, pratica spaziale e arte contemporanea.

Nel 2012 partecipa al Salone Satellite di Milano, e negli anni seguenti prende parte a mostre nazionali ed internazionali tra cui Designboom Mart Tokyo, Operae Festival di Torino ed EDIT Napoli.

Nel 2017 lo studio è stato selezionato per il programma Young Designers Under 35 della Triennale Design Museum e nel 2025 ha fatto parte del Padiglione Italiano alla Biennale di Architettura di Venezia. Oggi lo studio collabora con aziende come Opinion Ciatti, UpGroup, Pibamarmi, JCP Universe, Styl’Editions, MaVoix e Boralevi Firenze, lavora con imprese creative come Jusbox Perfumes e partner internazionali quali Mina Perhonen. Inoltre si occupa della progettazione degli interiors e segue la direzione artistica di alcuni marchi di design, beauty e fashion ed istituzioni culturali.

Marble belongs to history. It also belongs to the present.
Marmifere explores the possibility of moving beyond the monument, reimagining Carrara marble as an active presence within contemporary public space.

Neither sculpture nor conventional furniture, the project inhabits the space between object, architecture and landscape—where material becomes experience, and heritage becomes part of everyday life.
Because the most enduring traditions are those that continue to evolve.

The marble quarries of Carrara are more than extraction sites—they are a living geography shaped by geology, time, and human labour. Terraces, tunnels and fractured slopes become a vocabulary of forms, carrying the memory of a territory that has continuously transformed itself.
Marmifere emerges from this landscape.

Two monolithic seating and play elements reinterpret the extractive morphologies of the Apuan Alps, transforming them into spaces for gathering, exploration and contemplation. Rather than treating marble as a static monument, the project reimagines it as a living material—one that continues to generate relationships, experiences and new meanings within the contemporary city.

We’re grateful to INTERNI for featuring Pantano in its latest issue and for recognizing the importance of projects that see design as a cultural and social practice, capable of weaving together people, places, and time.

By working alongside local knowledge and traditional weaving practices, we discovered that every handmade gesture carries much more than technical skill. It holds memory, identity, care for a landscape, and a way of imagining the future.

For us, design is not only about creating new forms. It is about creating the conditions for knowledge to be shared, transformed, and kept alive.

Start Saluzzo

The marsh walking aid Cianta reinterprets the crossing of unstable and impervious grounds, stabilizing the step and enlarging the support surface. Part of the Pantano project, it emerges from Studio Lievito’s research on marshland landscapes and on instability as a metaphor for adaptation, balance, and coexistence. 🌾🌿

Made of woven marsh grasses gathered in the Padule di Fucecchio, Cianta translates a technical principle into a cultural gesture: walking becomes a continuous negotiation with the terrain, where balance is not imposed, but constructed through attention and flexibility.

In Pantano, design does not seek to dominate the landscape, but to inhabit it through forms of listening, reversibility, and respect toward a fragile ecosystem.
