Have you noticed our latest addition to Mýkt (Sky Body Scrub) area? These beautiful dividers are called ‘reflar’ in Icelandic and were long used as a canvas to decorate and tell stories.

Sunsets at Sky Lagoon 🌅
As the days get shorter in Iceland, you don’t have to stay up late to catch the sunset anymore. An evening visit now comes with a chance of watching the sun go down over the North Atlantic, right from the lagoon.

Have you noticed the turf walls at Sky Lagoon?

Building with turf is an Icelandic tradition that dates all the way back to the settlement of Iceland around 870.

For centuries, Icelanders used turf to build their homes, as it provided insulation and protection from the Icelandic weather.

At Sky Lagoon, this tradition lives on in the turf walls, where pieces of Icelandic turf are packed together to insulate and keep us warm.

The Icelandic turf houses are layered in a traditional herringbone pattern.

This method is used in the main Sky Lagoon building, as well as the Skjól Ritual.
