🥄 Choosing the right cooking oil is one of the simplest ways to protect your heart.

No single oil is perfect for everyone. The healthiest approach is to use oils rich in monounsaturated fats (MUFA) and polyunsaturated fats (PUFA) while limiting saturated and trans fats.

❤️ Heart-friendly choices include:

* ✅ Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Rich in MUFA and antioxidants.
* ✅ Mustard Oil – Good balance of MUFA & PUFA with natural omega-3.
* ✅ Groundnut (Peanut) Oil – MUFA-rich and suitable for high-heat cooking.
* ✅ Rice Bran Oil – Balanced fatty acid profile with plant sterols.
* ⚠️ Sunflower/Safflower Oil – Rich in PUFA; best used in moderation and not repeatedly overheated.

Remember:
✔️ Rotate oils to achieve a better balance of MUFA and PUFA.
✔️ Avoid reusing cooking oil.
✔️ Limit butter, ghee, vanaspati, and trans fats.
✔️ Healthy cooking is only one part of heart health—combine it with regular exercise, adequate sleep, and a balanced diet.

Healthy Oil • Healthy Heart • Healthy Life ❤️

Smoking vs Va**ng: Which is worse for your heart?

Many people believe va**ng is a safer alternative to smoking, but current scientific evidence shows that neither is safe for your heart.

🚬 Smoking (Ci******es):

* Significantly raises blood pressure and heart rate.
* Damages blood vessel lining, promoting plaque buildup (atherosclerosis).
* Increases the risk of heart attack, stroke, peripheral artery disease, and sudden cardiac death.
* Carbon monoxide reduces oxygen delivery to the heart, making it work harder.

💨 Va**ng (E-cigarettes):

* Ni****ne increases heart rate and blood pressure.
* Chemicals and ultrafine particles can cause inflammation and oxidative stress in blood vessels.
* May impair blood vessel function and increase the risk of blood clots.
* Long-term cardiovascular effects are still being studied, but growing evidence suggests va**ng is not harmless.

❤️ Take-home Message:
The healthiest choice is to avoid both smoking and va**ng. Quitting either habit improves heart health, lowers the risk of heart attack and stroke, and adds years to life. If you’re trying to quit, seek professional guidance—effective treatments and counseling can greatly improve success.

☕ Milk Tea vs Black Tea: Which is Better for Your Heart

Tea itself is not harmful—but what you add to it matters.

✅ Black Tea (Without Sugar) is rich in natural antioxidants (flavonoids) that may support blood vessel function, reduce inflammation, and contribute to better heart health when consumed in moderation.

✅ Milk Tea (Without Sugar) can also be part of a healthy diet, especially when prepared with low-fat milk and consumed in moderation. While adding milk may reduce the absorption of some tea polyphenols, it remains a reasonable choice for many people.

⚠️ Adding Sugar—whether to milk tea or black tea—increases calorie intake and, if consumed regularly in excess, can contribute to:

* Weight gain
* Insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes
* High triglycerides
* Increased risk of hypertension and cardiovascular disease

Heart-Healthy Tea Tips

✔ Prefer tea without added sugar or with minimal sugar.
✔ Limit total tea intake to 2–3 cups/day.
✔ Avoid pairing tea with sugary biscuits, cakes, or fried snacks.
✔ Choose an overall heart-healthy lifestyle with regular exercise, adequate sleep, and a balanced diet.

Remember: The healthiest cup of tea is the one with little or no sugar and enjoyed as part of a healthy lifestyle.

🍷 Alcohol & Your Heart: Think Before You Drink ❤️

Alcohol is not as harmless as many people believe. While occasional, low-risk drinking may be acceptable for some adults, regular or excessive alcohol consumption can significantly increase the risk of high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation), cardiomyopathy (weakening of the heart muscle), heart failure, stroke, and high triglyceride levels.

Binge drinking is particularly dangerous and can trigger life-threatening heart rhythm disturbances even in otherwise healthy individuals. The safest option for heart health is to avoid alcohol altogether. If you choose to drink, do so in moderation and never use alcohol as a way to “protect” your heart.

Your heart will thank you for every drink you don’t take.
