Godrej Industries Group
Crafting tomorrow since 1897 Godrej was founded in 1897 by Ardeshir Godrej to help build India’s economic independence.
A significant portion of our profits from our innovations was donated to India’s freedom movement. During the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918, we made the first soap from vegetable oil with no animal fat. In 1951, we crafted the ballot boxes for India's first general election, giving both women and men the equal right to vote. It's a legacy we are committed to growing at Godrej Industries Group (GIG). The revenue of the Group is USD 6.1Bn with a market capitalization of USD 27.5 Bn (as of 31 March 2024). By serving over 1.1 Bn consumers globally through are businesses with market leadership positions in consumer products, real estate, agriculture, financial services, and chemicals. Godrej Consumer Products is an FMCG leader in Home and Personal Care in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Godrej Properties is India’s leading real estate developer by sales. Godrej Agrovet, including its production of compound feed and crude palm oil, addresses key challenges in Indian agriculture, improving productivity for farmers. Godrej Chemicals, our oldest business, services diverse industrial applications through one of India’s largest oleo-chemicals, derivatives, and specialty chemical portfolios. Godrej Fund Management is the real estate private equity arm, and Godrej Capital, the newest company, has a fast-growing financial services business. We believe we are only as good as what we do next. We strive to continuously improve our business and impact on the world, shaping a more sustainable and responsible future by placing our planet and people alongside profit. Through Godrej Good & Green, we aim to create a more inclusive and greener planet, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the needs of local communities. At the Godrej DEI Lab, we empower inclusion within the group, build DEI ecosystems and bring DEI-related ideas and innovation to the mainstream.

A productive herd is shaped long before the yield.
At Godrej Agrovet, the Dairy Knowledge Series is an on-ground farmer engagement platform that brings dairy farmers and experts together to explore the science and practices shaping modern dairy management. Focused on the goal of "a calf a year from every cow," the initiative encourages farmers to adopt proven herd health, nutrition, and reproductive management practices that can drive long-term productivity and profitability.
In the Namakkal district in the state of Tamil Nadu, more than 100 dairy farmers came together for a session led by Dr. N. Sri Balaji, Assistant Professor, Department of Livestock Production Management, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal.
His perspective was simple but significant: every stage of an animal’s lifecycle presents an opportunity to improve productivity, and small, science-based interventions can make a meaningful difference over time.
From knowledge-sharing to practical approaches that farmers can apply on the ground, the series is about turning scientific understanding into informed action.

This edition: Wildly Successful.
We dream big, deliver now, and grow stronger through every challenge.
Being Wildly Successful isn't about achieving more for ourselves. It's about creating more for the world around us.
It means being bold enough to rethink industries, champion innovation, solve complex challenges, and create lasting value for people and the planet. We are resilient, using adversity to unite, solve, and emerge stronger.
Because being wildly successful starts with the courage to imagine more, and the conviction to make it real.

At Godrej Industries, leadership is not a title, but a practice shaped by intention, curiosity, and the courage to keep asking what matters most. Our leaders are poets and engineers, mentors and learners, each bringing their own history, questions, and style to the shared work of crafting tomorrow.
In this series, we invite you to meet our leaders as they are, and see the interplay of personality and principle, legacy and ambition, and the many ways The Godrej Way is made real.
We kick off the series with Jamshed Taraporwala, Chief Sales Officer & Head, Enterprise Solutions for Godrej Ventures.
The more we understand, the more questions emerge.
In this edition of Verses of Wisdom, we share an excerpt from Oscillation, a poem by our Chairman Emeritus, Nadir Godrej, contemplating the expansion of the universe and what may lie beyond our understanding.
At Godrej Industries, we have always valued the curiosity to look beyond the obvious, to question, explore, and imagine what comes next.

In 1918, Godrej introduced the world’s first commercial soap made from vegetable oil, reflecting a foundational belief that has guided Godrej Industries Group ever since: that business can grow alongside a commitment to the world around us.
Today, this belief is more relevant than ever because sustainability isn’t just an add-on; it’s central to our business. It drives our resilience in challenging times, impacts our cost of capital, and shapes the decisions made by our customers and partners. This sustainability focus is key to defining our growth journey over the next decade.
The Good & Green Academy embodies this legacy. It serves as a shared learning platform aimed at empowering every Godrejite with the skills and mindsets needed to navigate this dynamic landscape. Building a sustainable future requires not just intention, but also the capabilities to influence and shape it effectively.
We are proud to mark a landmark moment for Godrej Consumer Products Limited, with the expansion of its Malanpur campus, home to Asia’s largest integrated soap manufacturing facility.
The inauguration, led by Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Nisaba Godrej, and our leadership, celebrates decades of innovation and the ambition to shape a better, more inclusive future.

Our Chairman Emeritus, Nadir Godrej, opened the Anil Dharker Literature Live! Independence Lecture with a poem in his signature style, weaving together humour, history, and thoughtful observations.
Through verse, he celebrated Anil Dharker’s legacy and introduced the evening’s speakers, Dr. Gagandeep Kang, public health virologist, and Dr. Jehangir Sorabjee, honorary physician and professor of medicine at Bombay Hospital, and the ideas they brought to the conversation on public health.
From research and vaccines to prevention and healthy living, the poem set the stage for an evening of reflections.
