Dance heals uses creative dance/movement therapeutic practice to uplift individuals; as they find an integrated version of themselves through movement.
Cliszma Aniuska Da Costa is a certified Dance Movement Therapy(therapeutic) Practitioner from TATA Institute of Social Sciences, 2014-2015. She earned a major in Psychology at her bachelor’s degree. She has acquired a gamut of training in dance styles such as Bharatanatyam, Jazz, Contemporary and Ballet. She continues to practice intensively with Dance and Movement, exploring different movement vo
cabulary. During her term in Mumbai, she has been an active member of the dance community there, having participated in different events such as contact improvisation jams, yoga, dance workshops by European faculty, hula hooping Jams and cocooning session. She has done performances both in Goa and Mumbai. She recently got certified as Zumba basic one trainer. She has used DMT as a tool to work with Stress release through body-mind connect, heightening self esteem, anger management, improving body-mind awareness, gross motor develop, improving body-mind co-ordination, understanding self, personal space/boundaries, assertiveness, expressing-self, fine motor development and finding meaning through social interaction in a therapeutic setting; all of which covers under the domain of personal well being and positive growth. She has been practicing for 200 hours over a period of Three months. Her practice covers a wide range of population ranging from special and differently able children to Young adolescents and high cognitive functioning adults. She has very closely and effectively worked with the kids from underprivileged background for 2 years as a teacher at The Akanksha foundation, Mumbai. Presently, she facilitates DMT as well as Zumba fitness classes for the guest at The Beach House Goa.
