Not every “famous” facewash is suitable for every skin type. Here’s why I rated these cleansers the way I did

(1)CeraVe Foaming Cleanser — 8/10
Ceramides + hyaluronic acid
Good cleansing without being overly harsh
Great option for oily/combination skin
— Can feel a little drying for very dry or sensitive skin.

(2)Minimalist Salicylic Acid Cleanser — 7/10
Salicylic acid helps with excess oil and clogged pores
Useful for acne-prone skin

— Not necessary for everyone and overuse can cause dryness/irritation.

(3)Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser — 9/10
Very gentle and barrier-friendly
Suitable for dry/sensitive skin
Great everyday cleanser
— May not feel cleansing enough for very oily skin.

(4)Simple Refreshing Facial Wash — 8/10
Gentle cleansing
Lightweight and fragrance-free
Good everyday option for many skin types
— Not specifically designed to treat acne.

(5)Pond’s Acne Clear Face Wash — 5/10
Can provide a stronger cleansing feel
Marketed toward acne-prone/oily skin
— May be too stripping for some people, especially with active acne treatments.

Remember: A higher rating doesn’t mean it’s the “best” facewash for everyone. Your skin type + skin concern + tolerance matter more than popularity.

Vitamin C Serum Ratings — which one is actually worth it?

Here’s how I’d rate these popular Vitamin C serums based on their formulation, Vitamin C concentration, overall ingredients, and suitability for different skin concerns:

1. La Roche-Posay Pure Vitamin C10 — 9/10
A well-formulated option with 10% pure Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid). Great choice if you’re looking for antioxidant protection and help with dullness and uneven skin tone.

2. Minimalist Vitamin C 16% — 9/10
A higher-strength Vitamin C formula designed for brightening and antioxidant benefits. A good option for people who already tolerate active ingredients well.

3. Deconstruct Vitamin C Serum — 8/10
A good balance of Vitamin C and supporting ingredients. Suitable for people who want a simple brightening serum without an overly complicated routine.

4. Foxtale Vitamin C Serum — 7/10
A decent beginner-friendly option for improving dullness and uneven-looking skin tone, but I’d place it below the top three based on the overall formulation.

5. Garnier Bright Complete Vitamin C Serum — 6/10
Can be useful for basic brightening, but compared with the higher-rated options, I’d prefer the others for a more targeted Vitamin C routine.

Important: Vitamin C isn’t a magic treatment for pigmentation. Consistent sunscreen use every morning is just as important—otherwise you’re working against your own routine.

Acne isn’t just a “drink more water and wash your face” problem.

Acne involves multiple factors like excess oil, clogged pores, Cutibacterium acnes bacteria, and inflammation.

Over-washing your face can damage the skin barrier, increase irritation, and potentially make acne worse.

The right ingredients matter — Salicylic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide, Niacinamide, and Sunscreen can help depending on your acne and skin type.

So next time someone says, “Bro, just drink water and wash your face”… send them this reel.

Toothpaste

Skipping sunscreen
Popping pimples

And no, moisturizer doesn’t automatically cause acne!

Not every acne ingredient works the same way. Here’s how I’d rate them based on their evidence, effectiveness, and role in acne care

Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% — 10/10
One of the most effective acne-fighting ingredients. It reduces acne-causing bacteria, inflammation, and helps prevent antibiotic resistance when used alongside topical antibiotics. Great for inflammatory pimples.

Adapalene 0.1% Gel — 9/10
A topical retinoid that helps unclog pores, prevent new breakouts, and treat comedonal acne. Excellent for long-term acne management and maintenance.

Salicylic Acid 2% — 9/10
A beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that penetrates into pores and helps remove excess oil and dead skin cells. Particularly useful for blackheads, whiteheads, and oily/acne-prone skin.

Azelaic Acid — 8/10
Helps with acne, inflammation, and post-acne pigmentation. A great option if you’re dealing with both breakouts and dark spots.

Niacinamide 5% — 8/10
Helps regulate sebum, support the skin barrier, and reduce inflammation. Useful as a supportive ingredient, but usually not as powerful as benzoyl peroxide or a retinoid for active acne.

Tea Tree Oil — 3/10
May have some antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, but the evidence is much weaker compared with proven acne treatments. It can also irritate sensitive skin, especially when used incorrectly.

My takeaway:
For active acne, ingredients like benzoyl peroxide, adapalene, and salicylic acid generally have stronger evidence. The best choice depends on your acne type and skin tolerance.

Disclaimer:- Acne can have different causes and severities. Persistent, painful, cystic, or scarring acne should be evaluated by a dermatologist.
