Aapke parents ko diabetes hai? Toh sirf “roti band kar do” solution nahi hai. 🫓❌
The goal is to build a more balanced plate that creates a smaller and slower rise in blood sugar. 📉
So, instead of having a plate dominated by roti + sabzi, make a few simple changes:
🫓 1 roti kam
🥗 Salad add karein
🥣 Dahi add karein
🧀 Paneer add karein
But why?
Roti is a carbohydrate, and carbohydrates have the biggest direct impact on blood glucose. So reducing the portion slightly reduces the carbohydrate load of the meal. (American Diabetes Association)
Then we add salad for fibre and dahi + paneer for protein. A balanced plate with non-starchy vegetables, protein and a controlled portion of carbohydrates is also the basic principle behind the American Diabetes Association’s Diabetes Plate method. (American Diabetes Association)
And here’s the interesting part 👇
Food order matters too.
Try eating salad + dahi + paneer first, and roti + sabzi afterwards.
Research has found that eating vegetables and/or protein before carbohydrates can reduce the post-meal glucose response compared with eating the carbohydrate first. (PubMed)
So you’re not telling your parents to completely change their diet.
You’re simply changing the proportion and order:
❌ More carbohydrate-heavy plate
⬇️
✅ More fibre + protein + controlled carbs
Because the goal isn’t to completely eliminate carbs.
The goal is to avoid unnecessary sugar spikes and make everyday meals more balanced. 💙
Small changes to the plate today can help build healthier eating habits for years to come. 🥗🧀🫓
If someone already has diabetes or takes glucose-lowering medication, their meal plan should be individualized with their doctor/dietitian.
You can’t simply “eat it now and burn it later” 🏋️♂️🍕
A common mindset is “I’ll have the burger, fries or donut today, and I’ll just work out extra tomorrow.” But health and nutrition don’t work that way ❌
Yes, exercise helps you burn calories, build muscle, improve fitness and support overall health 💪 But it doesn’t magically cancel out the nutritional quality of what you eat.
Junk food is often high in calories, unhealthy fats, added sugar and sodium, while being relatively low in essential nutrients 🧁🍟🥤
That’s why nutrition and exercise have different roles. Your workout is not a punishment for what you ate, and food shouldn’t be something you have to “earn” through exercise.
Of course, enjoying your favourite foods occasionally is completely okay ❤️ The goal isn’t to be perfect, it’s to build a balanced lifestyle where most of your meals nourish your body and you can still enjoy the foods you love.
Don’t think “eat now, burn later.” Think “eat better, move better, live better.” 🌱💪

Some popular options can be low in protein, high in refined carbs, or cause a quick blood sugar spike. The good news? You don’t have to stop eating them completely , just fix the combination.

Not all salts are created equal 🧂
Pink salt, black salt, sea salt, low-sodium salt, kosher salt, with so many options available today, it’s easy to assume that the “fancier” salt is automatically healthier.
But is it really?
In this reel, we’ve compared different types of salt based on iodine, sodium, minerals, everyday use, and overall practicality.
And the biggest takeaway? 👇
For most people, your everyday salt doesn’t need to be expensive or fancy. What matters more is choosing the right salt for your individual needs and using it in the right quantity.
Watch till the end and see which salt gets the highest score 🧂

Walking is great for diabetes but strength training deserves a lot more attention. 💪
Here’s why: your muscles are one of the biggest places where glucose gets stored and used.
When you exercise, your muscles can take up glucose from the blood with less reliance on insulin. And when you build more muscle, you essentially increase your body’s capacity to store and use glucose.
That’s why strength training can be such an important part of better blood sugar management.
If you have diabetes, don’t just focus on “burning calories” focus on building muscle too.

5 everyday mistakes that could be affecting your liver and you may not even realise you’re making them.
Fatty liver is no longer just a concern for people who are overweight. Even people with a normal BMI can develop fatty liver, which is often referred to as lean fatty liver.
Excessive fruit juices and smoothies, unnecessary “liver detox” supplements, poor sleep or sleep apnea, misuse of certain gym supplements, and assuming that being thin means you’re automatically protected, these are all things worth paying attention to.
Your liver performs hundreds of important functions every single day, often without giving you obvious warning signs when something is going wrong.
That’s why instead of falling for quick-fix detoxes or blindly following health trends, focus on the fundamentals - a balanced diet, appropriate portions, regular exercise, quality sleep, and avoiding unnecessary supplements.
And remember: looking fit on the outside doesn’t always mean your metabolic health is perfect on the inside.
Fibre matters more than you think! 🌱
But do you know which everyday foods are actually high in fibre?
So, let’s rate some everyday foods based on their fibre content 🌿
