Beauty is getting expensive to look cheap. Hear me out.

The new status symbol isn’t looking like you spend thousands on your face. It’s making people wonder if you spend anything at all.

Beauty used to announce itself: big lips, big lashes, sharper cheeks, obvious filler. You could see the money. Now the money is disappearing into results that are harder to detect: skin quality, structure, subtle correction, prevention, consistent maintenance.

$300 can look expensive. $3,000 can look like nothing happened. And increasingly, “nothing happened” is the compliment.

So the product isn’t Botox. It’s “I look rested.” It’s “something changed, but I can’t tell what.” Clients aren’t buying a treatment. They’re buying a feeling.

That changes what makes an injector valuable. Taste becomes the product: knowing when to treat, where to treat, and when to stop. Stop selling syringes. Sell the philosophy behind them.

Not cheap in quality. Cheap in evidence. The new luxury is plausible deniability.

Save this 🤍

Are your clients asking for “more” or for “nobody can tell”?

Patrick Bateman just booked at your med spa. He already has a plan. 📋

His routine is longer than your treatment menu. He’s researched every device. He’ll tell you exactly what he needs.

Meet the Optimizer. The mistake most providers make is giving him more:
→ more treatments
→ more products
→ more things to perfect

What keeps him is a system. Three questions at every consult:

What are we treating?
Why?
What does done look like?

An Optimizer doesn’t want more. He wants a finish line.

Which client in your book is an Optimizer? Tag the provider who treats them 👇

She’s 34. Says she looks tired all the time. Won’t do filler.

What we see: hollow tear trough, slight midface descent, skin texture actually fine.

A: tear trough filler
B: laser + a skincare plan, no needles

Estheticians, what are you booking her for? Comment A or B + one reason. Best answer gets pinned for Face Call Nº 02.

8 ways to make your med spa timeless. Because the businesses that last are built on more than trends.

Build a reputation, not just a following. Followers can disappear. Reputation compounds.
Be known for something. A clear position makes you unforgettable.
Don’t build around a treatment. Treatments change. Human desires don’t.
Protect trust more than today’s sale. Sometimes the most valuable treatment is the one you tell a client they don’t need.
Make your standards difficult to copy. Anyone can buy the same device. Not your team, your process or your attention to detail.
Let the brand evolve, without losing what makes it unique.
Build something that works without you. More freedom. More impact.
Never act finished. Progress is the point.

Timeless businesses are never done. That’s how they stay ahead.

Save this and come back to it every quarter 🤍

Med spa owners: before fillers, doctors injected candle wax into faces 🕯

A duchess’s wax nose slid down to her chin. Then came silicone, cow collagen, and finally HA. Here’s the whole story.

8 beauty founders every med spa owner should study. Not trends. Not luck. Repeated decisions.

Estée Lauder let clients experience the results before asking them to buy.
Anastasia Soare built around one thing everyone else overlooked, and became known for it.
Charlotte Tilbury made herself part of the product. People don’t just buy treatments. They buy you.
Hailey Bieber launched Rhode narrow, not wide. A few hero products, done exceptionally well.
Jamie Kern Lima turned a personal insecurity into a global brand. Proof beats perfection.
Tata Harper made the process part of the luxury. People value what they understand.
Trinny Woodall earned trust long before she asked anyone to buy.
Cindy Eckert talked openly about a topic others avoided, and built a business on it.

None of these habits are glamorous. That’s exactly why most beauty businesses skip them. The ones that don’t compound quietly, until everyone starts calling them successful.

8 uncomfortable truths about running a med spa. Nobody puts these in the business plan.

Being fully booked doesn’t mean you’re doing well. Busy ≠ profitable.
Your best injector might be your worst employee. Talent doesn’t cancel bad behavior.
Clients are less loyal than you think. Satisfaction ≠ loyalty.
Your beautiful clinic stops impressing people surprisingly fast. She remembers how you made her feel.
Some of your clients should hear “no.” The treatment that builds the most trust is sometimes the one you refuse to sell.
Your team talks about your business when you’re not there. Culture leaks.
More followers won’t fix a business people don’t return to. Retention > attention.
Eventually, you become the bottleneck. At first it feels like success. Then you realize you built yourself a job.

Great med spas aren’t built by avoiding uncomfortable truths. They’re built by noticing them early.

Save this, and send it to an owner who needs it 🤍
