ורדית גרוס מדלגת ב"מגלים אוצרות" בפרוטפוליו מנונפיניטו הראשון בו עדיין ראתה את עצמה כעובדת תחזוקה, ועד לנונפיניטו המוצג בימים אלו בארטפורט - "עבודות גדולות ושאפתניות. כל אחת מהן היא מעין מיני תערוכת יחיד, והרבה מהן העסיקו אותם לאורך חלק גדול מהשנה. בגלריה מוצג התוצר הסופי, אבל מאחר שכולנו חולקים את אותו הבניין – זכינו לראות את העבודות האלו מתפתחות ומשתנות, וכולנו מרגישים שותפים בהיווצרן."

בפרק החדש של Artport on Air ורדית גרוס משוחחת עם האמן ויוצר הקולנוע יונתן עומר מזרחי על דימויים שנמצאים סביבנו כל הזמן, על המקומות שבהם אמנות ופרסום מתחילים להיראות דומים, ועל הדברים שאנחנו מפסיקים לראות דווקא בגלל שהם תמיד שם.
מזרחי, שבדרך כלל עובד בווידאו ובקולנוע, מציג בתערוכה נונפיניטו עבודות קצת אחרות: עבודות דו ממדיות, מבוססות טקסט ומחקר, שנולדו מתוך מפגשים עם דברים שכבר נמצאים ממש לידנו.
אחד מהם הוא שלט קוקה קולה דהוי על הבניין הסמוך לארטפורט, שהוביל אותו למחקר על סוכר, פרסום, מדיה מסחרית והקשרים ביניהם. אחר הוא השבועון "קרוב אליך", שמחולק בבתי כנסת, ושאותו הפך מזרחי לזירה של פעולה אמנותית כשהחל לשלוח למערכת מודעות מזויפות, שנראות כמעט בדיוק כמו הפרסומות שאמורות להופיע בו.
בשיחה הם חוזרים גם אל "דלות החומר", אל המשמעות של להיות קרוב מדי לטקסט, למקום או לדימוי, ואל השאלה מה קורה כשעבודת אמנות משתלבת בתוך המציאות עד שלא בטוח שמישהו בכלל מבחין בה.

In the new episode of Artport on Air, Vardit Gross speaks with artist and filmmaker Jonathan Omer Mizrahi about images that are constantly around us, the moments when art and advertising begin to look strangely similar, and the things we stop noticing precisely because they are always there.
Mizrahi, who usually works with video and film, presents a somewhat different body of work in the NonFinito exhibition: two-dimensional, text- and research-based works that grew out of encounters with things found right nearby.
One of them is a faded Coca-Cola sign on the building next to Artport, which led him into a research process around sugar, advertising, commercial media, and the connections between them.
The conversation also returns to what it means to be too close to a text, a place, or an image, and to the question of what happens when an artwork blends into reality so seamlessly that it is no longer clear whether anyone notices it at all.

כששנת רזידנסי נוספת מסתיימת ושנה חדשה מתחילה, העבודות יוצאות מהסטודיו ונפגשות מחדש בחלל התערוכה. אחרי שנה של עבודה, ניסוי ומפגשים, הן מקבלות צורה חדשה, ועדיין ממשיכות להשתנות.
השבוע אנחנו מפנות את הזרקור אל יונתן עומר מזרחי ✨
מזרחי הוא אמן ויוצר קולנוע שעבודתו עוסקת ביחסי כוח ובאופן שבו הם מעצבים את הדרך שבה אנחנו תופסים מקומות, אנשים ודימויים. דרך עבודה במדיה שונים ושיתופי פעולה עם חוקרים, אקטיביסטים, עובדים וקהילות חקלאיות, הוא בוחן גבולות לאומיים ומושגיים, אחרות, פוליטיקה וטראומה.
בנונפיניטו המבט הזה מופנה גם אל הסביבה הקרובה של ארטפורט.
מעל פלאפל ג'ינה ברחוב העמל התנוססה במשך כשלושה עשורים כרזת פרסומת לקוקה קולה. עם השנים דהה צבעה האדום, עד שכמעט נעלמה מעיני העוברים והשבים. עבור מזרחי, השלט נקשר לערוצי החדשות והמדיה המסחרית, השזורים באותם מבנים כלכליים ומייצרים יחד משטר חזותי של הון, מידע ותשוקה.
כשהכרזה הוסרה, נחשף מאחוריה ציור קיר חבוי: ברבוניה באורך ארבעה מטרים.

As another residency year comes to an end and a new one begins, the works leave the studios and meet again in the exhibition space. After a year of work, experimentation, and encounters, they take on a new form, while continuing to change.
This week, we turn the spotlight to Jonathan Omer Mizrahi ✨
Mizrahi is an artist and filmmaker whose work explores power relations and the ways they shape how we perceive places, people, and images. Working across different media and in collaboration with researchers, activists, workers, and agricultural communities, he examines national and conceptual boundaries, otherness, politics, and trauma.
In NonFinito, this gaze is also directed toward Artport’s immediate surroundings.
For nearly three decades, a Coca-Cola billboard hung above Falafel Gina on Ha’amal Street. Over the years, its red color faded until it nearly disappeared from the sight of passersby. For Mizrahi, the billboard is tied to news channels and commercial media, embedded within the same economic structures and together producing a visual regime of capital, information, and desire.
When the billboard was removed, a hidden mural was revealed behind it: a four-meter-long red mullet.

Jonathan Omer Mizrahi and Bekriah Mawasi will meet for a conversation about the text based works presented in the exhibition, between sugar and annihilation and alongside Emile Habibi, Anton Shammas, and a red mullet fish from Manshiya, they'll discuss satirical imagery that refuse to let history end.

ביום חמישי, 10.9, נפתח את תערוכת סיום הרזידנסי השנתית של ארטפורט, שמביאה אל הגלריה את העבודות והתהליכים של ששת האמנים והאמניות שעבדו בשנה האחרונה בסטודיואים שמעליה.
נונפיניטו נושאת איתה מראשית הדרך את ההכרה שמעשה האמנות אינו מסתכם באובייקט הסופי המוצב בגלריה. הבלתי גמור הוא גם התהליך, החיפוש, שינויי הכיוון, השיחות, הספקות, התאונות והתגליות שמרכיבים שנה של עשייה אמנותית.
במקום מוצר מוגמר או נרטיב חתום, נונפיניטו מציבה את מעשה האמנות כפעולה מתמשכת - כזו שחושפת ופורמת את התפרים של המציאות, ובדרך מתחילה לדמיין מציאות חדשה.

We can’t believe a whole year has passed, which can only mean one thing - NonFinito is HERE ~
On Thursday, September 10th, we open Artport’s annual residency exhibition, bringing together the work of the six artists who have spent the past year working side by side in the studios above the gallery.
NonFinito begins from a simple idea: art is never only the finished object we eventually meet in the gallery. It is also everything that happens before, around, and in between - the searching, testing, changes of direction, conversations, doubts, accidents, and discoveries that make up a year of artistic work.
Rather than offering a final answer, NonFinito stays with the work while it is still moving - pulling at the seams of reality and imagining what might take its place.

This past Saturday, Tomer Dekel’s solo exhibition came to a close with a gallery talk by Tomer, Hana Anushik Manheimer, and Naama Arad.
Thank you to everyone who joined the talk, and to the hundreds of visitors who came to see the exhibition over the past few weeks.

ספר אחד, ערב אחד, והרבה יותר ממדיום אחד ~
ביום שלישי האחרון השקנו את "חלום משותף", ספר האמנית החדש של רותי דה פריס, בערב שנע בין הופעת הסופרן של טל גנור, הקראות שירה של לריסה מילר ושרון קנטור, ושיחה משותפת בין המשתתפות.
כמו בעבודות של רותי, גם כאן שום דבר לא נשאר בדיוק בתחום שלו - מילה הפכה לקול, קול פגש דימוי, וספר שנולד במהלך הרזידנסי בבתניאן בברלין חזר לתל אביב וקיבל עוד חיים.
תודה לרותי דה פריס, לטל גנור, ללריסה מילר, לנגה נקש, לשרון קנטור ולאבי בוחבוט, שעיצב את הספר יחד עם רותי.
ועם הערב הזה גם סלון קיץ הגיע לסיומו - אחרי חודשיים של הקרנות, סדנאות, הופעות, שירה, שיחות וספרים. תודה גדולה למאות המבקרים והמבקרות שהגיעו להיות איתנו לאורך הקיץ!
One book, one evening, and much more than one medium ~
Last Tuesday, we launched Shared Dream, Ruti de Vries’ new artist book, with an evening that moved between a soprano performance by Tal Ganor, poetry readings by Larisa Miller and Sharon Kantor, and a conversation between the participants.
As in Ruti’s work, nothing here stayed neatly within its own medium - words became voice, voice met image, and a book created during her residency at Bethanien in Berlin returned to Tel Aviv and took on another life.
Thank you to Ruti de Vries, Tal Ganor, Larissa Miller, Noga Nakash, Sharon Kantor, and Avi Bohbot, who designed the book together with Ruti.
And with this evening, our Summer Sessions also came to an end - after two months of screenings, workshops, performances, poetry, conversations, and books. A huge thank you to the hundreds of visitors who joined us throughout the summer!
