LCFE Hairdressing Department

Our course runs over 2 years covering the following :Year 1 - communications, customer service, personal effectiveness, hairdressing theory and practice, hairdressing science, work experience and health and safety. Year 2 students are encouraged to work three days a week in a salon and two day in college. Senior Trade Certificate is being offered to all qualified hair stylists again this year, from September 2022 until May 2023 for 3-4 hours per week. The Senior Trade Certificate is a recognised qualification awarded by the Department of Education & Science. The Senior Trade Certificate is mandatory if you wish to pursue a career in teaching hairdressing in the public sector. This course is perfect for fully qualified stylists looking to do the Senior Trade Exam on a Part-time basis. Classes will be held on Monday mornings from 9am to 1pm
Please note:
1. Part-time Senior Trade Certificate is for Qualified Senior Stylists competent in all aspects of Hairdressing.
2. Longford College of Further Education will assess candidates techniques and skills on Day 1 to identify areas that candidates may need to improve on. We will also guide you through past exam papers. Candidates will have to complete additional study and work of approximately 3 to 4 hours per week at home, you will also be expected to work full time in a salon. Course content;
