Fine hair extensions have been our speciality for the past 6 years 🤍

And there’s a reason why this type of work is so close to me.

I don’t have naturally thick hair myself, so I understand how much fine hair can affect the way you feel — and how important it is for extensions to feel light, discreet and natural, not heavy.

In this video I’m showing the difference between a standard 1g bond and the tiny bonds we use for fine hair.

With fine hair, it’s not about simply adding more hair.
It’s about choosing the right amount, the right bond size and the right placement for each individual section of natural hair.

That’s what I love about this work.

Seeing a woman come in feeling self-conscious about her thin or fine hair and watching her confidence change when she sees the finished result is still one of the most rewarding parts of my job — even after all these years. 🥹🤍

Fine hair doesn’t mean you can’t wear extensions. It just means they need to be done differently.

I love being behind the chair.
I love running my salons.
And apparently… I love a little bit of chaos too.

I choose the kind of busy I want. 🖤

And with me working between both salons, my availability may be a little more limited towards the end of the year. 🤍

Why a hybrid salon works better for me?

Last year, I made one of the biggest changes in my business.

I moved from a team of around 10 people to 5 and introduced more self-employed / rent-a-chair positions within my salons.

There came a point when I realised I had to start thinking about myself too. Yes, I know. Very selfish 😬🤷‍♀️

For years, I carried the responsibility of employing a bigger team — payroll, VAT, PRSI, holidays, sick days, costs, management… and making sure everyone else was okay.

At the same time, I was going through a lot in my own life as a mum. Somewhere between running two salons, managing a team and dealing with life outside work, I started burning out.

And that scared me.

Because hair is my life. My business is a huge part of my life and I still genuinely LOVE being behind the chair and looking after my clients in both salons🩶

I was thinking to change it year earlier, but was advised not to because some employees might not be happy.

But one thing I’ve learned? You can’t make every business decision based on keeping everyone happy. And not always I was appreciated as a boss too 🤷‍♀️

Some people will understand your decisions. Some won’t. And that’s okay.

With maturity, you realise not everyone has to understand or agree with your choices. And you can’t control how people behave when things aren’t going their way. That’s life.

Today, my salons operate as a hybrid.

I still have amazing employees, but I also work alongside independent, self-employed professionals running their own businesses within the salons.

For me, that means lower overheads, less day-to-day staff management, more independence for the people I work alongside — and more time for my family, my clients and growing the extensions business.

Does it mean I’ll never employ people again? Absolutely not. I probably will.

But right now? This model works SO much better for me and for this stage of my life when I have nearly all.

And if there’s one thing I wish…

I wish I had trusted myself and made the change sooner. 🤍
