Chocolate brown is having a proper moment and it suits far more skin tones than people expect. Soft n**e never goes anywhere and it is the one that grows out invisibly, which matters if you are stretching to four weeks.

A mini is a tidy-up — shape, cuticles, colour. Perfect if you are keeping on top of things and just want them neat before an event.

A luxury is the full treatment. Soak, scrub, hard skin removed properly, a massage and then polish. If it has been months, or your heels are past it, this is the one.

Gel on toes is available with either and lasts far longer than regular polish through socks and boots.

Three things, and your hands will look after themselves between appointments.

Hand wash by the sink, hand cream in the bag, nail oil beside the bed. The oil is the one that does the heavy lifting — it keeps the nail flexible so it bends instead of breaking, and it is the difference between a set lasting two weeks and three.

Ours comes as a 30ml bottle or a pen. Most people end up with both, because the one you actually use is the one within reach.

The most underrated thing on our menu.

It darkens your own lashes right to the tip, so you wake up with definition already there. Especially good if your lashes are fair at the ends, which is more common than people realise — most of the length is there, it just does not show.

Fifteen minutes, lasts four to six weeks, and there is nothing to take off at night. Add it to a brow appointment and you have got the eye combo.

We hear this every single week and it is almost never true.

What people call weak nails is usually damage from removal. A set picked off, or scraped off, or filed down too hard takes layers of the nail plate with it. That is what leaves nails thin, bendy and peeling — not the gel itself.

Done properly, a soak-off takes fifteen minutes and removes nothing but product.

Gel polish is quicker, cheaper and perfect if your natural nails are already strong. BIAB costs a bit more but it protects a weak nail and lets it grow, so you end up needing less over time.
