Sometimes technology has a mind of its own! 😅
And a little reminder for everyone using WhatsApp — don’t forget to back up your chats regularly. I’ve now set mine to back up daily! 📱

There’s nothing like the smell of pine after a rainfall 🌿⁠

Pines are evergreen conifers, with slender green needles instead of broad leaves, and they’ve been around on Earth for millions of years. ⁠
⁠
This pine, beautifully depicted here by this year’s Shirley Sherwood Award recipient, Phansakdi Chakkaphak, is called Pinus densiflora. It’s also known as the Japanese red pine, as it has reddish-brown, flaky bark, particularly in the upper crown. The tree grows into a distinctive flat-topped form and is also a hugely popular subject for bonsai.⁠

This painting is a testament to Phansakdi's astonishing attention to detail. Every needle is painted so precisely, the colours are accurate, and there's a fantastic sense of perspective that draws us in too; he's used a dark shadow around the cone and lighter green on the ends of the needles that fan out from the centre. ⁠

We finally did it! 🎨🙌

We’ve never done indoor painting ourselves before, so we thought… let’s try!

It definitely wasn’t easy! We almost gave up a few times and, of course, had some disagreements along the way. One is straightforward, while the other is always thinking outside the box — of course, that’s me! 🫣😊

And Jammy? Our little supervisor, watching everything very carefully. 🐶😂

But this little project became more than just painting. It challenged us to learn new skills, work together and, most importantly, learn to compromise.

And finally… we did it! 💪

A fresh new look for our home and AM THAI Ennis. 💛

I can’t wait to welcome my dear clients back. 🙏
