A little reminder from Barnesmore Wellness 😊

When blending essential oils, the right dilution allows you to enjoy the benefits of aromatherapy while respecting the skin.

Always check the individual essential oil's safety information, especially during pregnancy, around children, with sensitive skin or when using phototoxic oils.

Natural care, at every stage.

🌿 FORMULA FRIDAY 🌿

Welcome to my new Friday series!

Every Friday, I’ll be sharing one of my favourite natural, holistic formulas or recipes that you can recreate at home — from simple aromatherapy blends to beautiful little self-care rituals. 🤍

Today we're starting with something really important: *essential oil dilution.*

I’m using *30ml of sweet almond oil* and building the blend drop by drop:

🌹 3 drops Rose Geranium
A low dilution suitable for facial use.

💜 6 drops total — Rose Geranium + Lavender
A typical dilution for a body or massage oil.

🌸 9 drops total — adding Ylang Ylang
A stronger blend for a relaxing evening ritual or bath.

🌿 12 drops total — adding Frankincense
A stronger concentration intended for short-term, localised use rather than everyday full-body application.

The important thing to remember is that **essential oils are highly concentrated botanical extracts.**

When making your own blends at home, count your drops carefully, drop by drop.🌿

✨ Save this reel for your next aromatherapy blend!

A little reminder that there’s more to Barnesmore Wellness than massages and facials 🤍

I’m also an Advanced Beautician, and I offer a full waxing service for face and body.

With so many of my clients heading off on holiday throughout September and October, I thought I’d show you a little of my waxing technique.

For thicker, more stubborn hair, I use hot wax, while warm strip wax is ideal for larger areas such as the legs.

The aim is always the same, quick, efficient waxing with minimal discomfort, leaving your skin smooth and holiday-ready. ✨

If you’re heading away, or simply prefer to keep on top of your waxing, just get in touch or book your appointment online.

And if you’re a regular massage or facial client who didn’t realise I offered waxing too, now you know! 🤍

🌿 My 2 go-to essential oils for home health

If I could only recommend two essential oils to have at home, they would be Tea Tree & Lavender.

🌱 Tea Tree has naturally antibacterial and antifungal properties, making it a useful oil for a range of skin concerns. It’s one I particularly love for blemish-prone skin and acne, as well as fungal-prone skin and minor skin complaints.

💜 Lavender is incredibly versatile. I reach for it for everyday aches and pains, headaches, minor burns, bites, rashes and general skin irritation.

Two simple oils, so many uses, and absolute staples in my natural wellness kit. 🌿

Always choose a good-quality, pure essential oil and use safely and appropriately.

If your essential oil doesn’t have the the Latin botanical name on the label, I’d think twice before buying it.....

For example, on my Sandalwood you'll see Santalum album, and on the Organic Geranium you’ll see Pelargonium graveolens.

The botanical name tells you exactly which plant the essential oil comes from, and it’s one of the first things I look for when choosing an oil.

There are plenty of oils on the market that can look beautiful and sound natural, but knowing what to look for on the label can help you make a more informed choice.

Turn the bottle around. Read the label. Know what you’re buying.
