I've just turned 37, and I don't have the things I was "supposed" to have by now. no house. no husband. no kids. I pivoted careers, moved to another country with no five-year plan. by every list I was handed, I'm behind.

but here's what I know at 37 that I didn't at 27: the linear path was never mine. every time I turned left when they said right, I found more of myself, not less.

This is for every woman who's ever felt behind for wanting a different life than the one she was supposed to want in her 30s.

6 months ago I left everything familiar in Switzerland and moved to Hungary, a country I'd never been to, with a contract and no plan B. There are 6 things I've learned so far. If you've ever started over somewhere new, what did it teach you?

Moving abroad alone again in my 30s, with no plan B and no idea if I'll settle here, has been one of the things I've questioned the most.
I'm still asking myself If I made the right decision. I still wonder if I'll ever feel like somewhere is home.
But it's also one of the things I'm most proud of, because I know I can rebuild a life from scratch, and U know you can too.
