CIHT Conference Crikvenica Croatia

The first conference dedicated to health tourism entitled "Crikvenica – A Healthy Riviera" was held in Crikvenica's Thalassotherapia in September 2013. The time and place were not chosen by accident: that year, Crikvenica celebrated its 125th anniversary of tourism, and the Thalassotherapia, a health institution with a tradition dating back more than half a century, was the perfect venue due to the important role it played in the development of health tourism. The name of the forum was also chosen for a good reason, as the Crikvenica Riviera was one of the first destinations in Croatia that started the tradition of health tourism as early as the 19th century due to its beneficial natural features. The area's healthy climate, microclimate, clean air and sea, as well as its favourable insolation and vegetation, all help in the prevention of various diseases, convalescence, rehabilitation, and improvement of the quality of life. The tradition of high-quality health services on the Crikvenica Riviera is today successfully continued in a variety of health institutions and medical practices.
