The most obvious forms of physical effort are easy to recognize.

A workout. A long walk. A day of lifting.

The smaller, repeated demands can be easier to overlook.

Your feet may remember every hour spent standing. Your hands and forearms may carry the effects of typing, gardening, cleaning, lifting, or caregiving. Your shoulders, neck, and back may reflect long hours at a desk, driving, reaching, carrying, or looking down at a screen.
Even your skin can show the day through sun, wind, frequent washing, or another shower after everything is done.

Body care can begin by noticing where the effort showed up.

Not to judge it. Not to compare it. Simply to recognize what your body carried and respond with a little care.

Swipe through, then tell us: Where does a full day tend to show up in your body?

August is National Wellness Month, and it also marks two years of Aye & I Apothecary.

What began as a deeply personal journey has grown into a community centered around intentional body care, herbal wellness, and listening to what our bodies need.

This month, I’ll be sharing some of the lessons I’ve learned over the past two years, the stories you’ve shared with me, and the values that continue to shape Aye & I.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or you’ve just discovered us, I’m so grateful you’re here.

Here’s to another year of caring for ourselves and one another.

People see a logo. I see my whole story. 💜

Seven symbols, each carrying a piece of my journey — faith, family, and the plants that carried me through grief, motherhood, building something for my daughter, Ila and the community.

The damask. The cannabis leaf. Lavender. Sage. Spearmint. Basil. Aloe.

None of it is decoration. Swipe through for what each one means. 🌿 Which plant has meant something in your life?

Some messages stay with you.

Recently, a customer shared that her parents—who are originally from Nigeria—tried our Muscle Butter for the first time.

She told me they loved it, and one comment especially touched my heart:

“The Muscle Butter reminds them of home.”

As a California herbalist, I chose kombo butter because of its rich history, unique properties, and deep roots in West Africa. To hear that it evoked a sense of home for someone with that connection is something I’ll never take lightly.

Thank you for sharing your family’s experience with me. Moments like these remind me that plants have a way of connecting us—not only to our bodies, but sometimes to our memories, our traditions, and each other. 🤍🌿

Every ingredient in our Muscle Butter is there for a reason.

At the heart of the formula is kombo butter, thoughtfully paired with shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, apricot kernel oil, lavender, cedarwood, jasmine, and vitamin E. Each ingredient is selected with intention to create a body butter that supports massage, nourishes the skin, and becomes part of an intentional self-care ritual.

We believe you should be able to read an ingredient label, understand what’s inside, and feel confident about what you’re putting on your body.

Because caring for your body should begin with knowing what’s in the jar.

🌿 Herbal luxuries for every day and every body.

There are moments that divide your life into “before” and “after.”

For me, this was one of them.

Looking at this photo now, I don’t just see my daughter in the NICU. I see the moment I realized our journey would be different. The moment I knew I needed to deepen my understanding of the body, plants, herbs, and the many ways they can support healing.

I didn’t set out to create a skincare brand.

I set out to care for my child.

That pursuit led me down a path of learning, curiosity, and reconnecting with the wisdom of nature. Years later, it became the foundation of Aye & I.

Today, on Juneteenth, after a personally challenging week, I’ve welcomed the gift of a slower pace. I’ve spent the day simply being Mommy—laughing, smiling, talking, and soaking up time with my favorite girl while sage quietly fills our home.

I’m incredibly grateful for her.

I’m incredibly grateful for our journey.

And I’m grateful that what began in this moment grew into something I now get to share with others.

Beautiful skincare begins long before the jar is filled.

Behind every AYE & I Apothecary product is a process rooted in research, refinement, and intention. We believe creating botanical skincare is as much about honoring the ingredients as it is about crafting the final formula.

Because thoughtful care starts at the very beginning. 💜

One ingredient. Generations of wisdom.

Rich in vitamins A and E, shea butter has long been celebrated for its ability to nourish the skin barrier, lock in moisture, and leave skin feeling soft, smooth, and deeply hydrated.

It’s one of nature’s most beloved botanicals—and one we’re proud to include in many of our formulations.

At AYE & I Apothecary, every ingredient is selected with intention because what you put on your skin matters.
