At the moment I’m Mum, dog Mum, partner, friend, business owner, therapist, receptionist, admin department, content creator, accountant, cleaner, balloon artist, professional problem solver… and apparently now a secondary school researcher too and so much more 😂
We’re in the middle of making secondary school choices, navigating normal family and personal life, running a fully booked clinic, looking after my beautiful clients, AND behind the scenes I’m working on the biggest next chapter for Desired Body Clinic… THE NEW CLINIC/SHOP 🥹🔑
There are contracts, builders, decisions, deliveries, paperwork, a million tabs open in my brain and approximately 47 conversations I’ve replied to in my head but apparently not actually sent 😅
So if you’ve messaged me and thought, “Jo has definitely forgotten about me…” I promise I probably haven’t. I myself am simply a little understaffed at the moment - a nudge is very welcomed 🫶🏽✨
And amongst all the chaos, I genuinely wouldn’t change it
My girls need me
My family needs me
My clients need me
My business is growing rapidly
And something I’ve dreamt about for so long is finally becoming real amongst the mist ♡︎
It’s a beautifully busy season of life - and I’m incredibly grateful for every single part of it
Just bear with my WhatsApp replies while I attempt to be seven members of staff in one body

WHY DOES EVERY DBC TREATMENT START WITH A DRY BRUSH?
Dry brushing might look like a simple little step, but there are several reasons I love starting here
✨ CIRCULATION
That gentle brushing creates temporary increased blood flow at the surface - hence that gorgeous little healthy flush you sometimes see afterwards
✨ SENSORY STIMULATION
Your skin is packed with sensory receptors
Those repetitive strokes provide tactile stimulation and start bringing awareness to the body before I begin working more deeply with the tissues
✨ MOVEMENT THROUGH THE SKIN & SUPERFICIAL TISSUES
I’m introducing gentle mechanical movement before moving into the hands-on stages of your treatment
✨ EXFOLIATION
It helps lift away dead surface skin cells, leaving the skin smoother and beautifully prepped for better absorption of the DBC MCT coconut oil use and for the treatment that follows
✨ IT GIVES ME MY FIRST LOOK AT YOUR BODY

While I’m brushing, I’m already observing - where are you holding? Where does the skin look puffy? Are there areas that appear different from one side to the other? How does the tissue respond to touch?
I’m already taking information in before I’ve properly started
✨ AND THEN WE MOVE INTO THE LYMPHATIC WORK…
Dry brushing itself isn’t some magical “detox” treatment, and I won’t tell you it’s physically flushing toxins out of your body
What it IS is a beautiful way for me to prepare the skin, stimulate the senses, introduce movement and begin connecting with the body I’m about to work on

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER… ♡︎
This is a little last minute, and if I’m honest, I wish I’d had more time to put something together because this one is very close to home and heart
DBC has donated a Full Body Lymphatic Massage worth £110 to be auctioned at our amazing hun Rosalia Farrugia Nonna’s Kitchen, an Italian Supper Club raising money for The Lighthouse
But then I thought… why stop there?
So I’m putting out a very last-minute call to my lovely clients, friends, local businesses and anyone else who might be able to help
Would anybody like to donate something - big OR small - that we can add to the auction?
A treatment, voucher, product, experience, hamper, meal, service… honestly, anything that could help us raise a little more
100% of the money raised through the auction goes directly to the charity
The The Lighthouse does so much for people within our local community - providing food, clothing and hygiene essentials, as well as practical, mental and emotional support for those who need it
And that’s only a small part of what they do
