šŸ’™ Blue Light Card holders, this one’s for you.

Whether you’re an NHS worker, teacher, care worker or one of the many people who spend your days looking after everyone else… you deserve a bit of time to look after you too.

When the colder weather arrives, our bodies can feel it.
More stiffness. More aches and pains. Muscles feeling tighter. Shoulders creeping up. And that lovely feeling of warmth on your skin from the summer sun suddenly feels like a distant memoryā˜€ļøšŸ„¶šŸ˜

Sometimes you just want to feel warm again to your core.

Infrared heat therapy gives you that gorgeous feeling of warmth surrounding you, helping you to relax and unwind while the infrared wavelengths pe*****te deep into your muscles allowing your body to relax and let go.

So if you’ve been curious about trying heat therapy, now is your time šŸ’™

This isn’t a busy public sauna where you’re sharing the space with strangers and feeling awkward. This space is a private and chic — just you (and a friend if you want to bring one), with no crowds, no noise and no feeling like you’re at the local leisure centre.

Just heat, quiet and time where nobody needs anything from you.

Throughout October, Blue Light Card holders get £5 off a solo session.

✨ Solo session: £10 instead of £15
✨ Bring a friend for just Ā£5 extra — share the warmth and the cost.

Very LIMITED appointment slots available for this offer.

šŸ“© DM me to arrange a suitable time.

Come and warm up, switch off and look after yourself for a change šŸ’™

Let’s talk nervous system.

Do you feel like you’ve forgotten how to switch off?

You’re tired… but you can’t properly relax.

Your brain is still going through the list.

You’re thinking about work. The kids. The house. What needs doing tomorrow. What you forgot to do today.

Even when you finally sit down, your body still feels like it’s on.

Does your body needs a bit of help getting out of that constant state of go, go, go.

Maybe an Infrared Heat therapy session could help. Not because it’s a magical cure for stress. It isn’t. But…

The warmth. The quiet. The stillness. No demands. No notifications. No one needing anything from you.

Just 30 minutes where you can stop.

And maybe, gradually, your body remembers what relaxed actually feels like.

If your nervous system feels completely frazzled at the moment and you’re struggling to switch off, this might be exactly the kind of pause you need šŸ¦‹

DM me if you want to give it a try. Limited appointment times available.

Very much looking forward to this Seed Talk on the Science of Saunas.

Session highlights include:-

• Learn what happens inside the body during heat exposure.

• Gain insight into current research on cardiovascular health, inflammation and rehabilitation.

• Explore essential safety considerations and who may benefit from heat therapy.

• Discover how heat therapy can sit alongside and not replace other approaches to movement and health.

What if sitting in a sauna could trigger some of the same responses as light exercise? By gently raising your heart rate and widening blood vessels, heat exposure changes how blood moves through the body, but what does that really mean for your health?

Heat therapies can help muscles relax and may support circulation and recovery. Researchers are also exploring their potential for people who find conventional exercise difficult, including those living with long-term health conditions.

I will pass on my learning of the current research to you all 😊

Speaker Bio:
Dr Amy Harwood is an AHCS-registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Reader in Clinical Exercise Physiology at Manchester Metropolitan University. She has spent more than a decade working across the NHS and academia, with a focus on exercise and therapeutic interventions for people living with long-term health conditions, particularly peripheral artery disease. Her research spans heat therapy, electrical stimulation, environmental physiology, rehabilitation and clinical trials. Amy chairs the Clinical Exercise Physiology UK practitioner working group and serves on two National Institute for Health and Care Research trial steering committees.

Why is it called massage ā€œtherapyā€?

Simply because it is a type of therapy.

I’ve had a few clients in this week who have been shouldering so much, (and I say that on purpose because that’s where it’s showing up).

Life can sometimes feel simply s**t šŸ’©. Full of pressure and strain. Balancing work, kids, partners, elderly parents. And surprise surprise, our bodies feel this heaviness too.

Tight shoulders. A clenched jaw. A tense back. Shallow breathing. A nervous system that seems to have forgotten what switching off feels like.

One of the things I truly love most about my job is being able to provide a tranquil space where you can simply be looked after and nurtured for a change.

Sometimes it helps to talk and to get it all out.

And sometimes, you don’t need to say anything at all.

Let the power of touch be the kind of therapy you need in that moment. A touch that speaks directly to the body creating a sense of safety, calm and connection when life has left us feeling tense, overwhelmed or exhausted.

That’s why its called it massage therapy šŸ’œ

My favourite question in a consultation is:

ā€œWhat’s your reason for booking today, and what would you like to get from your treatment?ā€

Today’s answer?

ā€œCrack me like a glow stick so I can glow again.ā€ 🤣✨

I mean… how am I supposed to argue with that?!

So that was the brief.
Crack. Release. Glow. āœØšŸ˜‚

I absolutely love hearing what people really want from their treatment — sometimes it’s pain relief, sometimes it’s pure relaxation… and sometimes they just want to be turned into a functioning glow stick. šŸ˜‚

I told myself I’d give it a year. That was the deadline. A year to see if I could actually make this self-employed thing work or I look for another ā€œproper jobā€ 🄓

It’s up today!

I won’t lie… in those first few months, panic was my default setting and I was checking Indeed regularly for jobs. I even applied for a couple when my nerves couldn’t quite cope with the uncertainty of building a client base and having no idea what my income would look like from one month to the next.

I’ve always been risk averse. The idea of leaving a secure job for the unknown was a big bloody deal for me.

But slowly, I learnt to sit with the uncertainty. I learnt that I didn’t need to know exactly what was going to happen next. And somewhere along the way, I stopped checking Indeed.

12 months on… I’m still here.

Of course, it’s not all sunshine and massages.

I’ve learnt A LOT about myself this year. Mainly that I need to get better at the business side of having a business šŸ™ˆšŸ˜‚

I procrastinate. I overthink. My brain is basically thinking about things 24/7.

But, I get to do something I genuinely love. Something that doesn’t really feel like ā€œworkā€ most days. Something that I make fit around my family. Something where I get to meet lovely people, help them feel better in their bodies and hopefully make a little difference to their lives šŸ’œ

So, I will continue into year TWO. Continue to build, continue to learn more, continue to figure it all out as I go.

THANK YOU to every single person who has walked through my garden gate this year or referred me to your friends šŸ™.

You trust me with your body, your aches and pains, your time and your money. I know you have plenty of choices when it comes to how you spend your hard-earned money, so when you choose to spend some of it with me, I genuinely don’t take that for granted.

So here’s to year two šŸ„‚

You know it’s time to book your hair appointment when the grey hairs start taking over šŸ™ˆšŸ˜‚

I’m pretty good at knowing when I need to get my hair done.

The roots are showing, the greys are multiplying and I’m suddenly very aware that I’m overdue.

So I book it.

But why don’t we think about our bodies in the same way?

Regular bodywork can help keep your soft tissues fully functional, support healthy circulation and lymphatic flow and maintain your full range of motion.

Yet so many of us wait until something hurts before we do anything about it.

We accept tight shoulders, an achy back, stiffness and restricted movement as just part of life or ā€œgetting olderā€.

So tell me… why do you think we’re so much better at maintaining what people can see, than maintaining what we actually feel?

Let me know in the comments below šŸ‘‡

I’ve had a lot of massages over the years. It’s one of my favourite ways of caring for myself. Some have been good, some pretty rubbish, some have been amazing 🄰

What has made the difference for me, is usually someone who doesn’t just work my body… they work with intuition too. They create an environment where I can completely surrender, let go, and trust I’m in good hands. Where they let me completely switch ā€œoffā€ from life, just for that small window of time, so I can then crack on with it again.

That’s the kind of treatment I aim for.

One that works with the body and your mind. One that focuses on your nervous system to calm it and help to restore it.

Our nervous systems are easily frazzled with what we have to constantly juggle in life.

This is why a treatment with me is not ā€œjust a massageā€ā€¦

Did you notice the little sink in her whole back when some pressure is applied? šŸ‘€

Watch it again.

It’s subtle, but it’s there.

That’s one of the reasons I always start my treatments with some form of compression.

Sometimes your body just needs a bit of help to let go as it doesn’t come easy to everyone.

There’s something about firm, steady pressure that feels incredibly grounding. It gives your body a chance to slow down, settle, soften and feel safe.

It’s also one of the things my clients tell me they love most.

That feeling of ā€œahhh… I can finally let go.ā€

No rushing. No forcing. Just steady pressure, a deep sigh, and letting your body sink in.

Let me know if this is your favourite part or if you’re needing this šŸ‘‡šŸ’œ
