With a deep understanding of holistic health and a commitment to continuous learning, we tailor each session to your individual needs. I took over The Marjorie Centre on 15th July 2015, after working as a therapist there since we opened in 2001. I will continue to offer my treatments here as well as manage the centre.

Creating a calm, comfortable space is such an important part of the treatment experience. From getting everything ready to making sure the room feels peaceful, I want you to feel relaxed from the moment you walk through the door.
People are always surprised when I say that needles can actually be relaxing… but it’s so true! For some people, acupuncture is one of the only times they properly stop, switch off and just allow themselves to be still.

So much more than just a foot rub!
One of the most common misconceptions I hear is that acupuncture is painful. A lot of people compare it to having a blood test, simply because that’s often their only experience of needles.
In reality, acupuncture needles are incredibly fine, just slightly thicker than a human hair. Most only go a few millimetres into the skin.
You may feel a small sensation as the needle is inserted, but for most people it’s more of a dull ache or gentle pressure rather than pain. Some areas, particularly the hands and feet, can feel a little sharper as there isn’t as much soft tissue in these areas.
I always ask my clients to take a nice breath in and relax before I gently insert each needle one at a time, if you wish. The process is calm, gentle and carried out at your pace.
So if the thought of acupuncture needles has been putting you off, hopefully this gives you a better idea of what to expect. 🪡
