A LITTLE UPDATE FROM ME & MY FAMILY 🤍

In August, I suffered an ischaemic stroke affecting the cerebellum — the part of the brain responsible for coordinating movement, balance and fine motor control.

The stroke caused significant damage and, almost overnight, I lost abilities I had always taken for granted. I couldn’t walk properly, balance or write, and unfortunately my vision in my left eye was also affected.

I know how incredibly lucky I am to still be here and recovering.

Since then, I have been trying my absolute hardest to get back to 💯 and return to my lovely customers. I genuinely thought I would be back much sooner, but recovery from a stroke isn’t something that can be rushed, and unfortunately we’ve had another setback.

Further investigations have discovered a hole in my heart, which now needs to be treated. This is likely to mean another procedure or operation, followed by more recovery time.

Because of this, and with the salon currently closed, we’ve made the very difficult but sensible decision to close the St George’s shop and move the salon into storage for the time being.

After Christmas, once I’ve had the time I need to properly rest, recover and deal with my heart treatment, Serenity will relocate to a home-based salon.

This isn’t goodbye. 🤍
It’s simply me giving my body and brain the time they need to heal so that when I do return to my amazing customers, I can do it properly and safely.

I appreciate every single message I’ve received. I’m not always able to read or reply to them myself, but they’re being read to me whenever possible. The amount of love, patience and support you’ve shown me and my family has genuinely helped keep me pushing forward with my recovery.

For now, I’ll be switching off notifications for the business page until after Christmas — mainly so I’m not tempted to sneak in a “quick little service” when I should be resting! 😂

Thank you for sticking with me through what has been one of the scariest and most difficult periods of my life.

I’ll be back. I just need a little more time. 🤍

Temporary Closure Until the End of September

I just wanted to give everyone a little update.

My recovery is going well, but unfortunately it is taking a little longer than we had initially hoped. Because of this, I have made the decision to take the remainder of September away from the business so that I can properly focus on my recovery.

For the time being, the Fresha diary will be taken offline to prevent any new appointments from being booked.

I will personally reach out to each and every customer towards the end of September regarding appointments and returning to work. Please bear with me while I work through everything.

To give myself the best possible chance of recovering properly, business page messages will also be switched off until the end of September. During this time, no business messages, enquiries or telephone calls will be dealt with.

I completely understand that people may have questions, but I really do need this time to concentrate on getting well. I kindly ask that you please respect this and wait for me to make contact when I am ready to return.

Finally, I cannot thank everyone enough for the incredible amount of love, kindness and understanding you have shown me during what has been an incredibly scary time for me and my family.

Your messages and support have meant more than you probably realise. ❤️

For now, my only job is to recover.
