An early alarm, very little sleep last night and a train journey later, I’m spending my Saturday at the WACS Annual Aesthetics Conference in Wales! 🚉🏴
Honestly, getting up this morning was a challenge, but I’m so glad I made the effort now. I’ve already connected with a couple of amazing practitioners, and it’s lovely to meet people who share the same passion for learning, growing, and regenerative treatments - doing the best for their clients.
For me, being in aesthetics is about never standing still. It’s about staying curious, questioning trends and keeping evidence at the heart of what I do, so I can help clients feel confident in their skin. Ultimately, to provide safe practice.
A little tired, but feeling grateful, inspired and excited for what the rest of the day brings. Sometimes, the best opportunities start with simply showing up.

What actually happens when we microneedle?
Microneedling isn't about simply putting holes in your face. Very fine needles create tiny, controlled microchannels in the skin. This stimulates the skin's natural repair response and encourages collagen production and remodelling over time.
So, rather than changing your face, we're supporting your skin to improve its own quality.
Microneedling may be helpful for concerns such as:
• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Uneven skin texture
• Acne scarring
• Loss of skin firmness
• Overall skin quality
And the important bit? It takes time!
Your skin continues working after the treatment, so improvements develop gradually over the following weeks and months.
That's why I don't believe more aggressive treatment automatically means better treatment. The approach should be tailored to your skin and what we're trying to achieve.
Healthy skin. Gradual improvement. Realistic expectations.

A quieter one from me today. I'm not feeling 100%, so I'm taking things a little slower.
I'm still very excited about what's coming to the clinic though, and I've got something lovely to share with you later in the week.
A certain new piece of kit I've been keeping rather quiet about... More on that very soon.
For today, I'm listening to my own advice and taking care of myself.
Back to my normal chat tomorrow.

This google review really made me smile. I think this is one of the most important things I can give someone when they come to see me.
“Sarah spent time on my first appointment going through all the treatments she offers and helping me to choose the correct ones. I wouldn't use anyone else.”
Because honestly, you don't need to know what treatment you need before you come to see me.
That's where I come in.
We have a proper chat about your skin, what you're noticing, what you'd like to improve and, just as importantly, what you're not looking to change.
Then we work out what makes sense.
That might be a treatment.
It might be skincare.
It might be a combination of things.
And sometimes, the answer is to do less.
I'm very proud that so many of my clients say they trust me with their skin.
Because for me, it's never just about the treatment.
It's about feeling listened to, understanding what we're doing and knowing that I'm going to be honest with you.
If you've been thinking about doing something for your skin but have absolutely no idea where to start, send me a message. You don't have to know what to book.

I see this all the time. Someone has cleanser, toner, three serums, two exfoliants, a mask, an oil, a night cream...
…and their skin is still unhappy.
Sometimes adding more isn't the answer.
I'm a big believer in going back to basics and asking what your skin actually needs. Protect the skin barrier. Use products that are appropriate for your skin. Be consistent. And give your skin a chance to get on with being skin as you don't need to constantly be doing something to it.
Please don't feel that you need a complicated routine because someone online has told you that you do.
Good skincare doesn't have to be complicated.
Sometimes, less really is more.
And if you have absolutely no idea what your skin actually needs anymore, that's something I'm very happy to help you work out.
❌️No 12-step routine.
❌️No selling you things for the sake of it.
✅️Just a sensible conversation about your skin.
Much more my style.

🍂There’s something about this time of year that makes me want to put my pyjamas on at 5pm, get under a blanket and not leave the house until spring! The Scots may call it 'Hurkle- Durkle' and the Danes - 'Hygge'.
And actually, this is one of the reasons I really like home LED. It fits into real life.
You in your own time without having to book another appointment, get in the car or find another hour in an already busy week.
Put your LED on, pour a glass of whatever you fancy, watch a bit of telly, read a book and let the light do its thing.
But there’s another reason I’m a fan... Consistency.
Professional skin treatments are there to stimulate, support and improve the skin, but what happens between your treatments matters too.
A good home LED device can be a useful addition to your home routine, helping to support the skin between professional treatments and potentially helping you maintain the improvements you're working towards.
I think about it a bit like this:
👩⚕️Your professional treatment is the intervention.
🏡Your home skincare and LED are part of the ongoing support.
It isn't about doing MORE and MORE to your skin. It’s about giving it appropriate support consistently.
And when we're talking about treatments designed to improve skin quality over time, that ongoing support can be really important.
Of course, not all LED devices are created equal, so I wouldn't just buy the first one you see online because it has pretty lights! The wavelength, power, treatment time and evidence behind the device all matter.
And LED isn't suitable for absolutely everyone, so it's always worth checking that the device is appropriate for you and following the manufacturer's instructions.
For me, it fits perfectly with my whole approach to skin health.
Professional treatments when they're appropriate.
Simple home care.
Consistency.
Protecting the skin barrier.
And supporting your skin rather than constantly trying to “fix” it.
Plus, if I can do it from the comfort of my sofa in my Pjs... Even better!
Please get in touch if you are considering investing and I can help with this. (And they can make the perfect Christmas Present).

We've had some laughs this week! You wouldn’t believe the things we were chuckling about in this photo… 😂
Honestly, I’m just grateful the walls can’t talk 🤐.
One minute we’re talking skin, the next we’ve somehow covered relationships, kids, work, life dramas, unfortunate events… and some things that definitely cannot be repeated outside these four walls 😂.
Some clients come in for a quiet treatment, some for an offload, some just for the laughs. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
No judgement.
No filter.
Professionalism when required.
Just good skin, good chats and A LOT of laughing. 🤍
What happens in the clinic… stays in the clinic 😉.
