Science led regenerative aesthetics. Thoughtful care. Ethical practice. Natural results. Creech Castle, Taunton

“Wait… lip filler didn’t hurt?” 👀

Four new client reviews have landed, and they all mentioned the same thing: they were surprised by how comfortable their treatment felt, with no bruising or swelling in their experience.

That makes me ridiculously happy, because **how you feel in the chair matters just as much to me as how you look when you leave it.**

I’ve developed my own signature 4 Point Lip Technique with a very clear aim: beautifully considered, natural looking lips, delivered with care, precision and as much comfort as possible.

Look at these lips. A little more shape. A little more definition. Still completely *her*. No “new face, who dis?” moment. 🤍

Lip filler doesn’t have to mean asking for the biggest lips your face can accommodate. Sometimes the most beautiful result is the one that brings everything into balance and has people wondering why you look so good.

Every face is different, and bruising, swelling or discomfort **can** still happen with injectable treatments. But you’ll always get an honest consultation, a thoughtful plan and a practitioner who cares about the experience as well as the result.

If natural lips are your thing, message me **“GLASS LIP”** and let’s talk about what would suit *you*.

Still on the fence about regenerative aesthetic medicine? I can change that. 👀

The first photo shows my markings before treatment. The second was taken straight after PLLA.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “That’s quite a difference already.” And yes, you can see a change. But here’s the clever bit.

PLLA is mixed with sterile water before it’s injected. Some of the fullness you see immediately comes from that water and the normal response to treatment. It will settle. So this is a little snapshot of the direction we’re heading in, not the finished result.

The real work happens gradually. PLLA stimulates your own collagen production, building subtle changes in structure and skin quality over the following months. It’s for people who want to look refreshed and supported while still looking entirely like themselves.

I’ll be following this result as it develops, because the straight-after photo is only chapter one. ✨

If you’ve been curious about PLLA, send me a message with “PLLA” and we can talk through whether it’s right for you and what a realistic treatment plan would look like.

Straight-after images are not final results. Treatment plans and outcomes vary.

Gals & Gents!

We’re taking a well needed breather!

It’s no secret I twitch when I’m away from my laptop for five minutes but alas… I must make some non clinical memories *sigh*

I won’t be answering messages between the 30th Sept - 9th October but please do leave a message and I’ll pick it up on my return.

Of course if your query is an urgent medical need, please contact 111, visit out of hours or schedule a GP appointment.

See you all soon,

Jo x

I’ve done something quite brave: I’ve handed over a little control of my diary. A little. Let’s not get carried away. 😂

You can now book your Glass Skin appointment online. Have a browse through the treatments, choose a time that suits you and pay your deposit, all through the booking link in my bio.

If you’re unsure what to book, please message me first and we’ll work it out together. I’ve released the diary, not my need to make sure you’re choosing the right treatment. 😉

Apparently ageing naturally is morally superior.

Which is interesting, because nobody has ever looked at a man driving a £60,000 car and whispered: "It's such a shame.
He used to be so confident." 😬

This month I'm discussing vanity.
Why women are expected to look good, but God forbid anybody catches us trying.

Why men are apparently allowed approximately one moisturiser before society starts asking questions.

Why "ageing gracefully" seems to involve accepting whatever gravity has planned for your face.

And why Lesley from accounts, who has maintained the same acrylic French manicure since Tony Blair was Prime Minister, is suddenly deeply concerned about your 0.4ml of lip filler.

There's science.
There's feminism.
There's Botox.
There's a Labrador towel.

And at one point I accuse ageism of wearing Charlotte Tilbury.

So, fairly standard academic discourse from me.

VANITY: MISOGYNY WITH BETTER BRANDING?

New on Substack.
Come for the aesthetics. Stay for the completely unnecessary attack on Lesley.
Keep it Glassy.

Cosy season is back in clinic for 2026!

Reply “SPLASH” if you think our surfing vids should play all year round. 🥶

“I only want 0.5ml because I want it natural.”

Ah yes.

The sacred half millilitre.

Because apparently at precisely 0.51ml, the lips detect the additional product, inflate like a dinghy and immediately apply for their own postcode. 😂

I get asked for 0.5ml ALL. THE. TIME.

Usually because:

“I don’t want massive lips.”

“I just want my top lip.”

“I’ve had half before.”

And my personal favourite…

“How much is half a ml?”

The same price.

Because I don’t offer half ml pricing.

*audible gasps*

Here’s why.

You’re not paying me by the teaspoon.

You’re paying for the product, assessment, anatomy knowledge, treatment planning, sterile equipment, clinical time, skill and responsibility attached to putting a medical device into your FACE.

I cannot ring Teoxane afterwards and say:

“Hi babe, got half a syringe left. Can I have £90 back?”

And more importantly:

0.5ml is not synonymous with natural.

I can make 1ml look beautifully subtle in the right anatomy.

I can also make 0.5ml look absolutely ridiculous if I put it in the wrong place.

Natural isn’t a quantity.

It’s a result.

Before I touch your lips, I’m looking at their proportions, shape, movement, dental and skeletal support, existing filler and how the upper and lower lip relate to each other.

Sometimes you genuinely only NEED a tiny amount.

Fantastic.

I’ll decide that because your anatomy told me, not because 0.5ml has somehow acquired excellent PR.

😂

The goal is never:

“How little filler can I possibly use?”

It’s:

What does THIS lip need to create the most beautiful, balanced result?

0.5ml is a quantity.

It isn’t a lip design.

“Will I bruise?”

Maybe, babe. You’re absolutely riddled with blood vessels. 😂

I appreciate this is inconvenient information when you have dinner on Friday, a wedding on Saturday and have inexplicably decided that Thursday afternoon is the perfect time to have your face injected.

Unfortunately, your vascular anatomy did not check your diary.

I can use good anatomical knowledge.
I can choose appropriate techniques and injection depths.
I can use needles and cannulas carefully.
I can minimise unnecessary trauma.

What I cannot do is enter into negotiations with your facial artery.

I’ve tried.

She’s unreasonable.

Any treatment involving a needle or cannula carries a risk of bruising. Sometimes you’ll leave looking immaculate. Sometimes one tiny vessel decides it would like to participate in your aesthetic journey.

This does not automatically mean anything has gone wrong.

So please, for the love of all things regenerative, give yourself some breathing room before important events.

Because while I am an Aesthetic Director…

I am not the CEO of your circulatory system.

Frankly, the benefits package wasn’t good enough.

Keep it Glassy. 🖤
