The iconic look was created in the 1970s by ORLY founder Jeff Pink, after Hollywood directors needed a natural nail look that would work with every costume change

He later took the look to Paris, where it became a hit on the runways — and the “French manicure” was born.

in 1976, ORLY founder Jeff Pink created a versatile, timeless nail look for actresses who needed a manicure that could go with every outfit. a year later, The Natural Nail Look was born.

then in 1978, the look made its way to the Paris runways and got the name we know and love today: the French Manicure.
