This review fills my heart with joy! 🥹💚

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting a very lovely 13-year-old and his mum, who came to see me because she was concerned about the amount of congestion he was experiencing.

Before we started his facial, we had a relaxed skin & skincare education session. As Mum’s know only too well… their children are more likely to listen to someone who isn’t their Mum 🤣 so I feel it’s important to cover things like how the skin works, what the skin barrier is and its purpose, reasons to not follow trends and influencers and to remember that they’re perfect just as they are. ❤️

Some of the other things we chatted about were why squeezing blemishes can make things worse, the importance of wearing SPF every day and how to keep his routine simple so that we’re protecting his young, still-developing skin barrier, rather than overwhelming it.

Then it was time for his facial and apparently I nearly sent him to sleep! 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

It was an absolute pleasure having them visit The Facial Sanctuary and I’m so pleased that they found the whole experience useful and enjoyable.

And then this beautiful review landed in my inbox this evening. 🥹

THIS is one of the reasons why I love offering Teen Facials. 💚

It’s not about trying to give teenagers “perfect” skin. It’s about helping them understand the skin they’re in, giving them good habits early on, and making sure they feel listened to when something is bothering them.

✨ How much recognition do you get in your job? ✨

For most of my corporate life, I think I just accepted that I did a job and in return, I got a salary.

There were occasional thank yous and moments of recognition, but they were few and far between. And I don’t think I realised until I started building my own team just how important feeling appreciated actually is.

It’s something that matters hugely to me now.

I want the people in my team to know that I SEE them. I see the effort, the consistency, the little wins, the big achievements and everything in between. 💚

And one of my absolute favourite things is finding little ways to celebrate them. 🥳

From cocktail boxes arriving through the post 🍹 to bottles of fizz 🥂, personalised gifts, handwritten messages, cupcakes waiting on the table at Glammies 🧁 and, earlier this year, introducing our Ambassador of the Month so I can shine a spotlight on someone who deserves that extra bit of recognition. ⭐️

They don’t have to be huge things. It’s the thought behind them that matters.

I genuinely get far more pleasure from giving than receiving, and thinking up those little touches is one of my favourite parts of leading a team.

Because nobody ‘has’ to choose me as their Tropic Leader… there’s plenty of us out there to join. And nobody has to stay. I never want to take for granted the fact that these incredible women chose to join me and continue to be part of what we’re building together.

The Tropic Rocket Stars really are an incredible bunch of women from all walks of life. 🚀⭐️ And I hope every single one of them knows just how grateful I am that they’re here. 💚
