One of the questions I get asked most is âHow long until I see a difference?â The honest answer is that it depends on you, but you will generally see a change after one session and that change is normally slower growth, your hair and the area weâre treating, but this gives you an idea of how a course tends to unfold.
Most body areas are treated every 8 weeks and the face every 4, so laser is something that builds gradually. Thatâs exactly why I love it when clients start in autumn. Your skin isnât tanned, the treatments fit in over the colder months, and by the time summer comes around, youâre already seeing the difference.
I understand it can feel like a long time when you just want the hassle gone. What I can promise is that weâll always be honest with you about whatâs realistic, right from your first consultation.
Your consultation and patch test are free, so if youâve been thinking about it, come and have a chat with us. Link in bio to book đ

I hear these every week in clinic, and honestly theyâre some of my favourite conversations to have with clients a few months into their course.
The one that gets me most is swimming with the kids. So many of you have told me it used to take planning, and now you just go.
I understand laser can feel like a big decision, especially if youâve tried it somewhere else before or youâre nervous about how itâll feel. We cool the skin as we go, we can take it slowly, and itâs a little bit of discomfort rather than anything unmanageable. Iâve worked with four different lasers over the years and they all feel different, ours is very manageable.
Everyoneâs results are different, and it does take a course, which is why we always start with a free consultation and patch test. If laser isnât right for you, weâll tell you.

She had been meaning to message for a while. When she finally did, this is what she said.
âI cannot believe how incredible laser is!!! Iâve literally only needed to shave once since our last appointment, which is unheard of for me. Iâm SO annoyed I didnât do this sooner.â
That last line. I hear it so often and it gets me every time.
I understand why people put it off. The upfront commitment feels like a lot, or you are not sure it will work for you specifically, or life just keeps getting in the way of doing something about it.
Laser is not instant and I will always be honest about that. It takes a course, sessions are spaced every six to eight weeks, and the results build progressively. But for most clients, by the time they are mid-course they are already messaging to say they cannot believe the difference.
If you have been meaning to do something about it and just not got round to it, come in for a free consultation. It costs nothing and you will leave knowing exactly what a course would look like for your situation.

Now the summer sun has calmed down. Your skin is generally easier to keep out the sun which makes autumn a great time to get back on track.
If youâre in the Sun and you tan, then itâs the right thing to temporarily cause your Laser treatments for a short period to ensure your skin safety.
Thereâs no magic number that works for everyone so I always say the honest truth is it depends your hair your skin tone your hormones and the treatment area all makes somewhat of a difference.
We will tell you when we see a consultation what you can realistically expect as a guide or as an average.
You donât need to be embarrassed about it and you absolutely do not need to apologise for it.
And you definitely donât need to explain why you want it gone
We know firsthand the impact the unwanted hair can have and so our job is to help you feel differently about that
We completely understand, especially if youâve never had Laser before
Our job is to make you feel comfortable - thatâs one of the reasons we patch everything and talk you through what to expect so that there are no surprises
You donât need to arrive knowing exactly what areas you want treated or when you wanna start we can discuss all of those things at a consultation
We absolutely will not promise you â100% hair free foreverâ because nobody should be telling you that but what we will do is realistically inform you about what you can expect and give you those results
You certainly donât have to commit to a full body transformation and start with the area that annoys you most and see how you get on
We will warn you though Laser can be addictive so itâs really common for somebody to finish one bit and start on another or add another bit on after seeing the results!
We will answer as many questions as you have there are no such thing as a stupid questions that were just questions we havenât answered yet and our job is to answer all of them and make sure youâre informed.
We offer free patch tests and consultations for our Laser treatment so drop us a message if youâd love to book in

Five things people get wrong about laser hair removal, and the honest version of each one.
One: you will be completely hair-free after a course. The honest version: most clients see 80 to 95 percent reduction. Any residual hair is typically very light and slow-growing. No ethical clinic should promise 100 percent.
Two: it is really painful. The honest version: there is sensation, especially in sensitive areas. Most people describe it as a warm snap. We cool the skin throughout the session and nobody has ever told me they could not manage it.
Three: you cannot have laser on dark skin. The honest version: older and cheaper lasers cannot treat higher melanin levels safely. Our Candela GentleMax Pro uses a wavelength that is safe and effective on all skin tones.
Four: it is done in six sessions. The honest version: a realistic course is usually 8 to 10 sessions, sometimes more depending on the area and the individual. Anyone who tells you six without looking at you is guessing.
Five: it is just a luxury. The honest version: for most of my clients, the headspace they get back is the thing they talk about most. The planning, the avoiding, the managing. Gone.

Things I care more about thanâŚ
There are SO many things we care about in the clinic, but one is making sure you receive the RIGHT treatment for you, and we are always very honest about that.
We always offer free consultations too, so please send us a DM if you have been thinking about a treatment but are unsure if itâs for you! đ¤

The mental load of hair removal is something nobody talks about. The planning, the timing, the avoiding. Laser is not just about the hair.
Shaving the night before a holiday so you do not have to think about it on the beach. Booking waxing appointments weeks in advance so the timing works out. Avoiding spontaneous plans because you have not had chance to sort yourself out. Wearing certain things and not others depending on where you are in the cycle.
I understand why people live with this for years without doing anything about it. It feels like something you just manage. Part of life. But talking to clients at the end of a course, the thing they mention most is not the hair reduction. It is the headspace they get back.
One client told me she went swimming with her kids and did not think about her body once. She just swam.
Laser does not promise perfection. Most clients see an 80 to 95 percent reduction after a full course. Any remaining hair is typically very fine and slow-growing. It takes a course and it takes time, I will always be honest about what is realistic for your specific situation.
If any of this sounds familiar, come in for a free consultation. It is the first step and it costs nothing.

Donât ditch your razor. We know that is not what most laser clinics tell you.
But at The Body Lab, we believe in being straight with you from the start, and here is the truth about what laser hair removal actually delivers.
After a full course, any residual hair is typically very light, very fine, and extremely slow-growing. If the odd one bothers you, your razor handles it in seconds. That is not a treatment failure. That is just real life.
You will still be shaving between sessions too. Laser targets the hair follicle, not the surface hair, so you shave regularly during your course and you need to shave the night before your appointment.
What laser hair removal delivers is a significant, lasting reduction. Most clients see 80 to 95 percent fewer hairs. We are not going to tell you otherwise just to get your booking. Ever.
Honest results. No overselling.
